~~ABOUT MY PHOTOGRAPHY~~~~
My images are mixed media fairytales with intertwining themes. Often the focus is on the female profile (which i find to be the most fascinating angle of a face). "Real"body parts sometimes mix with whimsical elements which lends to a subtle Grimm's undertone. I often do self portraits, yet I do not see myself, but an idea or fragment of a story.
County fairs, my years as a theater stage performer and sometime fetish model, having a grandmother who styled wigs in Oakland for 25 years, whirl wind phases as a makeup artist/hair stylist, mixed media painter and vintage clothing buyer/dealer , all make their way into my concepts. Some (maybe the more well known?) of my photographic heroes are David LaChapelle, Pierre et Gilles, Austin Young, Herman Leonard, Sally man, Helmut Newton, Charles Gatewood,Anton LaVey, Nick Bohn, Diane Arbus, Nan Goldin, Robert Mapplethorpe, list goes on..and well a million painters too..
Booked for TFDC.I do make up and hair too unless otherwise specified....styling/sets...
I do not normally do other people's concepts, but I do consider your look and/or editorial needs
when creating a shoot for you...Message me for availability.

A little atomic number on the sale rack. Lots of castles. Lots of knives and forks. Lots of closet skeletons. The fitting room flooded with the strands of the score he left on her answering machine. A drive-in movie screen: their cloud-built bed stuffed with opera lens and whatnots. How they loved to Euro the plot in a ceremonious old-world why not, play Scrabble with only the X’s and O’s. Nonstick knickknacks stacked high on the truth table sewn from trick-thread and midnight scissors. Buy two get a double agent gratis. How bountiful the boa—

A (Semi) Brief Bio.The 1990's was full of experiences that lead me here. I was a make up artist for FAD magazine in Paris, France. A hair stylist in the sometimes annoying tony neighborhoods of San Francisco. A 1920's cabaret stage performer choreographed by the illustrious Martha Graham protégé , Marni Wood, produced by the Goethe Institute..beginning with The Seven Addictions and Five Professions of Anita Berber written by Mel Gordon... A fetish (and some pin-up) model both in the U.S.A and in Hamburg, Germany, appearing in publications ranging from ''Skin Two'' to the "Village Voice"........In the following years while working mostly in the vintage textile retail business I began to write, published in many journals both hard copy and online. .....
.....Then I began to paint... semi large scale mixed media pieces as an independent galleried artist showing in Austin, Texas, New Orleans and New York, New York at places like Gallery 1313 (now continental), Marfa, Guadalupe Arts Center, Gallery Lombardi, LPK in the French Quarter & Austin City Limits Fest to name a few....
Now im exploring photography....i hope it inspires and dare i say , delights lol
Looking forward to meeting you...
Darla-
Got the photo albums out again; this one is of a Mr. Norman Crukshank, my distant cousin whom I used to meet up with every so often. He wore dresses on hot days, it keeps a good waft moving - for us as well.
Hi Darla! Thank you! I too am looking forward to meeting, yes Dean speaks very highly of you as well :)! Love your work, and I would love to help you out with costumes in the future! Hope you had a wonderful Mother's Day! Ash
Loooong conversation in the conference room about medical school, and how the stress level went up and down in waves... And the whole time... I was wondering what he looked like naked.
