Dancing-from club to African--the beat will find me! Writing, reading, poetry readings, coffee shop banter, discussing world events, history -particularly the Middle East, camping, hiking, back-packing, rock climbing, bouldering (took a class, loved it), snowboarding, snowshoeing, X-country skiing, and damn near anything once!
Music
Anything with a dance beat, reggae, jazz, African drumming, World, Soul, hip-hop, rap, classic rock, rock, 80s hits (what can I say, I'm an 80s child).
Movies
The Color Purple (I still cry), The Shawshank Redemption (superb), Crash (speechless), Syriana (wow), Police Academy I (I almost fell out of my seat), 300 (the ultimate chic flick), and barely heard of gems: The Man from Elysian Fields, You Can Count on Me, Kinsey, Love and Basketball...to name a few.
Television
The oldies: Murder She Wrote, Perry Mason, Matlock, Droopy, Popeye, Tom & Jerry, and Northern Exposure. I'm a Law and Order junkie and I watched Sex and the City on DVD...there, I admitted it!
Books
Mine :-), but seriously though, my reading has been limited to textbooks, but the books I must finish are Infidels, The History of the Middle East, Alexander Hamilton, and Peace not Apartheid.
Heroes
Very few, but here is where I give it to the ladies: Tina Turner, Maya Angelou, Whoopie Goldberg, Oprah, Hillary Clinton, and Mia Farrow
About me:
Published Author, Mother, Computer Techie, Student, and Life-long learner. I came here to write! Perhaps I'll pick up some friends and readers along the way.
For those of you who don't know me, I started this page to introduce you to my stories--my voice. For those of you who do, I want to give you something new and fresh. You haven't heard from me in awhile, but I'm still here. I have some readers who have been wondering where I went and that's a long story, but here, I will give you a taste of what's to come. Enjoy your stay here, and please do come back!
Who I'd like to meet: So strange that I can't right off name anyone. I have great people in my life. I want to keep them. I'm open to meeting a great deal more. I'm just lucky I guess.
you taken it to deep. i'm just stating a point. and i'm sure all those people you named have that same feeling he expressed. it's a matter of feeling inside of you.
If you raised by a woman, you're gonna think like a woman. But I'm not a woman. I'm just a normal man. To me, I'm the hardest man around, the hardest nigga, because I'm real. Like Mike Tyson, I got the same heart he got. I want to knock everybody out. But I'm also very soft. I'm very sensitive, but that's why I'm so harsh, because I'm so sensitive. And that's what I think has made me successful.
