As all good rock stories this one also starts with three friends forming a band. We didn't have a clue as of how to do so, we just really felt like creating something powerful and charged. So with no idea whatsoever of what we wanted to sound like, how a song is supposedly structured or whether or not lyrics should rime, we just started playing.
Time was spent on various experiments: What does it sound like, if a violin bow is used on a bass? How many beers does it take for me to loose all capability to tune my e-string? What if I stopped using a pick and instead started beating franticly with my cord? What will happen if I insist on using only my index finger when playing? We soon found that this way of expressing and creating without so many words gave us a feeling of great release. As time passed we found an irreplaceable togetherness and our unique universe had been created
Who could have known that this lack of intent could ever result in anything? And yet, some time later we found ourselves with an actual set of amazing songs. We soon agreed that this was way to good to keep contained inside Denmark so on a whim we booked tickets and went to New York. To our pleasant surprise we found ourselves perfectly at home as a part of the underground music scene. The overly positive response to our music made it hard to leave the city, so ever since we've divided our band activities between New York and Denmark
A pattern has taken shape and very paradoxical it seems like not having a plan is our best plan. So although we now have reached an unspoken understanding and intuitive knowledge about in which direction we're moving, we continue not knowing how our next song is created, whether or not it will have a chorus or if lyrics necessarily need to be about anything. What we do know is that as long as we play we'll make it work.

Darling Don't Dance has officially been added to the program at this year's "Iceland Airwaves" festival i Reykjavik! More info about the festival and line up at www.icelandairwaves.is This festival is similar to the Danish SPOT festival that takes place one a year in Aarhus - just bigger!

I anledningen af at vi udsender vores EP "BARE FRAMES" holder vi en kæmpe fest på Stengade30, kbh. d. 30. april 2009! Festen starter kl. 20 og for at skabe den perfekte steming har vi valgt at invitere nogle bands og venner til at spille sammen med os. Vi vil snart offentliggøre hvilke. Vi, Darling Don't Dance, giver selvføgelig også en live smagsprøve på, hvad EP indeholder af melodiøse kompositioner og vidunderlige støjladninger. Det er naturligvis gratis at være med til at fejre udgivelsen af vores EP - vi håber der er mange, der vil komme og tjekke det ud, om ikke andet, så for at høre 3 andre rigtig fede bands. Der vil løbende blive opdateret info om denne fest på facebook.

Igår blev de sidste grundspor til Darling Don't Dance's kommende EP indspillet, så nu gælder det blot mix, mastering og artwork før EP'en er klar til at se dagens lys. Undervurdér dog ikke, at sådanne ting tager tid, og vi vil være sikre på, at det hele er præcis, som det skal være, førend vi lader musikken flyve... Vi forventer stadig at afholde en releasefest primo april. Foruden denne kæmpe fest vil der selvfølgelig blive mange andre mulighder for at opleve DDD live i løbet af april og maj. (datoerne vil blive offentliggjort løbende) Bl.a. smugstarter vi den 27. marts på maskineriet i Aarhus for at varme op til de følgende koncerter. Vi glæder os til at kunne præsentere nogle nye sange for jer her på Myspace.

Actually this is old news but we think it's SO awesome that we wanna share it with all of you. Where ever we go we stick our selfmade-handcutted-blue-dress-sticker. Like Julie said to this guy at this nyc-bar bar in 2007 "here ya go - a sticker, you can stick it everywhere" In 2008 one sticker suddently appeared on the internet! A cool guy found it in the bathroom at Goodbye Blue Monday (a nyc-venue we played in 2007) and put it on his FLICKR profile...that's just awesome!

Dear friends, it's time to a little update; We have been writing and recording songs for our EP (to be released ultimo march 2009). It will contain 5 brilliant songs that we're really excited about. During December/January we'll finish recording/mixing/mastering and the beautiful cover-artwork should be done too. We're planning on throwing a big release party in march so stay tuned to find out the exact date cause you're all invited! Afterwards we'll go on a mini tour in DK, more about that later.

Husk nu alle kære venner og bekendte (og jer der måske ikke er nogen af delene), at DDD spiller på Studenterhus Aarhus nu på fredag (17/10) i anledningen af Strange Ears Festival. I får hele 6 koncerter for kun 40 kr fredag aften (og hvis i vil se 6 bands mere lørdag koster det 60kr). Se mere om arragementet og de andre bands HER.
Det er faktisk lidt vigtigt, at I kommer lige præcis denne aften, da det bliver vores sidste koncert i flere måneder! Vi skal nemlig koncentrere os om at indspille en rigtig fed EP, som I kan få fingrene i i starten af 2009.
