Born in Waco Texas, Mr. and Mrs. Vain gave birth to Kevin Vain in November 1981. Kevin was born with many talents, one being writing and producing music. As he got older, he found a skill to draw and paint. His parents encouraged him because artistic talents run in his family. By the age of 14 he won an art award, which lead him to pursue his art talent. At the end of his Jr. High years he got into the music scene. He played instruments such as the clarinet, piano, xylophone and drums, which gave him an ear for music. Kevin was the top of his class dealing with music because he enjoyed making good music for people. Further into High School he got into writing poetry. At the age of 16 he won a poetry contest and had his poem published in a book. Everything that he wrote was so detailed and dramatic, that you could feel what was being expressed. The same thing goes with his music.

When he first met D Jon in 9th grade he used that poetry talent to write lyrics for rap songs. It took a little work, but it definitely paid off. "A lot of artist out there now are just rapping with no meaning. Artist that have impacted his life are people like Tupac, Dre, Eminem and Bone Thugs N Harmony."

After High School, a few doors opened for him. By getting accepted to the Art Institute of Dallas, he pursued his artistic talent. Soon he encountered the moment where he was able to start creating his own beats and learned to record using a computer program. That began the creation of Duce Family Entertainment. With the many talents that Kevin possesses and the artists that are under Duce Family, this company is going to go straight to the stars. He graduated in 2002 with an Associates Degree in Graphic Design. That brought a new talent into Duce Family that every Record Label needs for advertising and marketing purposes, even designing the Duce Boy Album "From the Ghetto to the Grammy's"p>

At the beginning of 2003, he started selling industry ready beats. His and D Jon's style are bringing a whole new feel to the music in the rap industry now. Kevin's lyrics have hit a transitional stage and, by using his poetic skills to the fullest he is able to create a track that is like no other.

K Roc, a.k.a Roc Nasty started working with D Jon and Mug Shot on their first group project, The Duce Boys, From the Ghetto to the Grammys. This great collaborations is one to remember as the East Coast meets the South. As he brings his new style to this group and extrodinary production, this project is surely going to make some noise in the music industry.
