In February 2005 Darren entered the Triple J "Raw Comedy" Competition for his first stand-up performance. In October 2005 he was a Queensland state finalist in the Cougar "New Comic of the Year" competition. In 2007 he was a finalist in the Gold Coast’s "Legends of Laughter" competition, a Queensland state finalist in Triple J’s "Raw Comedy" competition and one of five Australian national finalists in the Nova "Nuts for Comedy" competition. In 2009 he was the winner of Adelaide's "R U Funny" competition. He is a regular on the Adelaide comedy circuit and has performed in venues in Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne, Northern New South Wales, the 2008 Melbourne Fringe Festival and the 2008 & 2009 Adelaide Fringe Festivals. | | Website | You are here | | Influences | I grew up on stuff like Paul Hogan, National Lampoons, Lenny Henry, Hale & Pace, Benny Hill, Monty Python.
