Sounds Like
Double D, The D meister, DD40, The Big D, but mostly Darren Dixon
Darren Dixon, currently residing in Nashville, Tn., has been playing music from a young age. He has grown up in an environment that music was thought of positively and encouraged. Darren played in school bands, choruses, and church choirs growing up. He majored in music performance on saxophone in College for three years taking learning and refining his craft of music and becoming an educated and accomplished musician which in turn helped him to excel in the local music scene. Darren founded and led many professional cover and original bands from top 40 pop, rock to Jazz combos, and to where he is now, Country.
Darren cut his “Country Teeth” playing with well known major label country artists, John Michael Montgomery right after he signed his first record deal with Atlantic Records, and with Eddie Montgomery of Montgomery Gentry. Eddie sat in with Darren’s band to help Eddie prepare for his show case that got him his deal with Sony at Austin City Saloon in Lexington, KY. Darren has continued to share the stage with major artists like those just mentioned along with Darrel Worley, Steve Azar, and others as he progressed through his career until present. Now, as he pursues his own Major Artist deal, he plays with his own group of seasoned professional players.
Darren, in the words of Eddie Montgomery of Montgomery Gentry, is a “SUPERSTAR!” In the words of the late Estil Sowards, John Michael Montgomery’s former Manager, “The most talented person on Stage” referring to Darren while playing with John Michael and his band at Austin City Saloon. Darren brings his unique style of entertaining and blend of pop, rock, blues and mixes it in to his upfront and honest country sound. On a lot of the show, Darren will play his lead electric guitar and command attention as he sings and solos with his tasty guitar picking. Then he will pull out the sax to add icing to the cake. To give you a picture of a highlight with Darren is “New Country with a Sax”. In the words of some of his fans “Darren definitely has “Sax-Appeal!” Darren’s soulful voice mixed with his emotional sax playing intertwined with the energy of his stage presence is a recipe for a show that pulls the audience in every time. Darren is a seasoned entertainer from a young age and is very at home in front of thousands of screaming fans on the stage. Darren has a genuine concern and love for his fans.
