I started playing guitar at age 15 and have strived to make a living solely from it ever since. It has taken 15 years out of the last 20 to acheive that goal, having worked every job known to man from labourer to receptionist and everything in between, whilst similtaniously working in bands every weekend. I have been enjoying a stress free lifestyle now for the last 7 years working in several different bands and duo's as well as working as an acoustic soloist/singer, session guitarist and teacher. And to top things off I have enjoyed the last 6 years with my unbelievably gorgeous wife who asks nothing of me other than to simply be me. We have 3 beautiful children, with which to share life and all it has to offer. Things just keep getting better and I look forward to playing well past retirement age. My current bands are GinJan (Hard Rock) www.ginjan.com and The Chosen Few (Folk Rock) www.myspace.com/thechosenfewmusic both have albums out at the moment. I also have www.darrenely.com under construction which will eventualy feature links to and sound bytes of the different bands I've been involved with as well as solo projects, a gig guide for people wanting to catch live shows, photo's and info about guitars and gear. Thanks for reading. Cheers, Darren.GINJAN's REALITY TV LIVE JUNE 08HERE IS THE IMFAMOUS NAKED IN THE SNOW CLIP FOR GINJAN's T.R.I.N.A WARNING IT ALMOST CONTAINS NUDITY!!!
We used to be called "Mumrik" that was looking for a singer and now we finally found a singer and the band name became STM since we are working together at a distance of 6000miles from Leeds, UK to Kyoto, Japan. We have uploaded 3 songs now. Check out how it works.
Hey Darren, thanks for checking us out, we've got a show coming up at the VIC hotel in Warrnambool on the 26th Feb it'd be great if you could come see us, oh & don't be shy to bring along friends. ('',)
Goodness me... Could that be me playing the horrible blues riffs in the back ground of that youtube vid???? Hi mate..... What Kramer is yours? I guess by now you have worked out that i love Kramers! Have you got more than one? How is life treating you? I am still working the puta shop and juggling wife/kids/music/ and guitar purchases!!! Funny how wifes never understand why you need so many guitars.... "It's not another guitar dear, it's a tea pot"!!!!!! All good. Thanks for the add, and keep up the awesome work. Benno. P.S. I still play like dog doodoo!!!!!
Still love that/your song 'Change'.. Good to see your so busy.
Lucky Maggie!!
Enjoy your time and good luck with the recording. I want to get back to it my self sometime soon.. I actually prefer the live recordings (love the energy & 'real' sound) but have had some magical times in the studio.. (computer said no and lost my fav track- boo hoo) .. look forward to catching up sometime.. You probably know the family has expanded.. Little Issy just had the big 'One' birthday..
ticking along well! although still waiting for a full night sleep. Issy just turned one..and i think my sanity would benefit from SLEEP.. otherwise thumbs up..
This beautiful (yes, beautiful) album has been in the making for over a year, us Noble Brats, have worked so hard to create a perfect mirror of our essence and did everything by ourselves. From recording to mixing to mastering. and the result has exceeded even our own expectations. All the songs in this album are full of contrasts and a rockin' out exploration and critique of the different emotions that control our lives, emotions that might keep us in an unhealthy relationship even when we know it's not good for us, emotions that drive some to systematically cut into their own skin to get a sense of control over their pain, emotions that make us wonder about our place in this world. So if you feel ready to take a chance and go on a journey into the darkness of our souls, we promise you a light at the end of the tunnel, you might even see yourself in our eyes.
