About Darren Hoff & The Hard Times

The Hard Times started with a little drinking “I can only speak for myself but I was shit-faced” says Darren Hoff “ anyway so Ben says when the fuck are we going to start a band?”. This wasn’t the first time they had kicked the idea around, they had played dozens of shows together over the years, Darren in the Weary Boys and Ben in the Duqaines and with Lucas Hudgins. After a few rehearsals to pick out some cover and work up some of Darren originals it was time to fill out the band. Recent Yakima Washington transplant Brandon Burke was recruited adding powerhouse drumming and harmony singing. Bass player Drew Schlegel joined shortly there after on the recommendation of former Weary Boy Cary Ozanian. With the line up set the Hard Times are playing Austin regularly and preparing for their debut record.
