Darren Martyn is not just an Artist but a Songwriter, Producer, Tutor, CEO of his own Production Company (DMP LTD) and signed to Warner Chappell Music Publishing, Darren Martyn is in a league of his own.
East London based Darren Martyn began his artist career at the young age of 11 by knocking on a studio door asking for help. Studio owner laughed and asked him to come in and sing, Darren sang a verse and chorus of Brownstone “If you Love Me”. The rest became history……
In 2004, Darren called into Warner Chappell anonymously which led into a publisher, an a’n’r from a major label and a manager attending his showcase in his mothers living room. Playing keyboards and singing 4 songs live, Warner put a bid in by the end of the day.
“It’s all about taking chances and believing in yourself” he says “It’s not about how many times you get knocked down, it’s about how many times you get up. Music isn’t just something I do, it’s a major part of who I am”.
Darren has worked with some amazing artists, writers and producers such as Kele le Roc, Shola Ama, Sadie Ama, Lucy Danielle, Booty Luv, Addictive, Bashy, Tinie Tempah, The Honeyz, S Club 7, Audley Anderson, Fugative (Summertime), Kenisha Pratt (Timbaland topliner), Cutfather (Jordin Sparks, Pussycat Dolls), K Gee (Sugarbabes, All Saints), Soundbwoy Ent, Phrased Differently (Sony ATV) the list goes on… In 2006 he penned the massive Uk smash ‘Fallin’ by Sadie Ama which went on to be nominated for best newcomer at the MOBO Awards.
