Darren Paul lives life with purpose. He believes every moment matters. He believes we should all live for today. He knows what he wants and he approaches his music with an unwavering focus and absolute professionalism. "I approach song writing with dedication and I only write when I feel like I have something to say". And Darren has no shortage of experience to draw from when exploring the world through music. The complex emotions associated with growing up through apartheid South Africa and then moving with his family to Australia in search of a better, safer life have provided the source of inspiration for most of the songs on his debut solo EP.
"Safety", the title track of the EP, was written as a memoir of close, lifelong friends left behind in South Africa. The pop/rock epic, "Living for Today" serves as a succinct summary of the lessons Darren has picked up on his journey. Together with "Climb Aboard", "All a lie" and "Love is not enough", Darren has produced a powerplay of his recent recordings, all of which are included on his debut solo EP, "Safety".
Darren's musical journey began after moving to Australia when he formed the band FRANK. They released 2 independent EP's, toured Australia and made several appearances on National Television and Radio. Throughout this period Darren worked hard at his writing and began to perfect his "style". This led to his selection as a finalist in The Australian National Song writing Competition as well as providing him with a powerful portfolio of original music. On the strength of this, in 2005 Darren Paul hooked up with a Los Angeles based production company and spent 12 months recording there.
Darren's honest, frank take on life is clearly communicated through his music. When he sings, "Are you Living for Today?" you just can't help but wonder...
Now with the launch of his debut solo EP, we invite you to share in the journey.

The Falls have been short listed for a chance to perform at the "Sound Of Music Festival" alongside bands such as 1990's, The Devoted Few, Belles Will Ring and the Seabellies.
In order to make it on the festival they are holding a show at the Spectrum in a few weeks to decide the final band - but to get on the gig at spectrum we need as many people to send a message to the festival's myspace page. So please help us by dropping them a message.
1. Visit www.myspace.com/soundofmusicfestival
2. Send them a MESSAGE with THE FALLS as the SUBJECT, saying that you "think The Falls should play at the Spectrum and open the Sound of Music Festival!"
That is all.... so easy!
Thanks for your help, Simon + Melinda + Dave + Mal + Pat + Gerard The Falls
