Mark Compared to many I knew, I'd say my life is a success... Posted at 8:28 PM Dec 22 view more
About me: I'm a liberal. I'm sure that by now you know my thoughts on most political subjects.
Words for my wife....
I have run to the ocean
Through the Horizon
Chased the sun
I've waited for the light to come,
And at times I would give up
You haveWrapped your loving arms around me,
And with your love I'll overcome.
You haveLoved me when I was weak,
You haveGiven unselfishly,
Kept me from Falling,Falling
Everywhere but my Knees!
You set me free!
To live my life
You became my reason to survive the great divide
You set me Free!
I've been on Heaven's doorstep,
With the Door open,
One foot inside
I've cried out! God give me answers!
Please hush child I'll tell you why
You haveLoved me when you were weak,
You keptGiving unselfishly,
Kept you from Falling,Falling
Everywhere but your Knees!
You set me free!
To live my life
You became my reason to survive the great divide
You set me free!
Oh..our love is beautiful
Times have changed
But you remain
My everything
Our Love is Beautiful
Stood by my side
Helped me survive
My great Divide
Isn't this beautiful.

I'm going to see AIC at the Fillmore this coming Monday. If by some cosmic miracle you plan to be there, let me know! Also, I got an advanced copy of the new album, Black Gives Way to Blue. They sound great. Let me know if you'd like me to email a track or two.
Hey, Mark. Pearl Jam put on a great concert last night in SF at the Outside Lands Music Festival. I Wish you could have been there. :P D-d-do do, d-d-doooo....
I think Maher is both intelligent and hilarious, and most the time he says what needs to be said - giving a voice to those rarely heard - but every now an then I'm unpleasantly surprised at how mainstream he can be. But, like I said, most the time he's right on. Jeremy Scahill seems to really know what he's talking about. And you can tell, from this interview especially, that he's not just trying to plug his book and make some dough. He's passionate about the topic and seems to genuinely want people to know what's going on.
Alright, after some light digging, I found some info that I had known about Blackwater (now called "Xe") but had forgotten. Blackwater is used by the Department of State to negotiate military objectives without congressional oversight - plain and simple. They have been, and are still currently being used in Iraq, despite the new Iraqi government's many attempts to expel them form their country. They were also used as security and humanitarian support durring the aftermath of hurricane Katrina at a cost to tax-payers of about $240,000 per day. They were recently alleged to be involved in a CIA-run assassination program. They are strongly linked to the Catholic Soveriegn Military Order of Malta or Knights of Malta - a religious/military order fronted by a so-called Christian Fraternity. There is a lot of information out there about these guys, but it pretty much boils down to them being scum. They seem to be really no different or better than the non-uniformed combatants our media commonly refers to as "terrorists."
I have to admit that I haven't done a ton of research on Black Water, but I do know what they are and I'm very aware of some of the things they do. From what I gather, they're not much more than a bunch of hired thugs, mostly ex-military. The government, the CIA particularly, hires these guys out to carry out operations that include activities in which U.S. military is not allowed to engage. These activities include any operation that would create PR problems for the administration, or violate the Geneva Conventions or U.N. Resolutions. Am I far off?
LMAO it was me........ I was in Seattle visiting a buddy who works in edmonds so we went to that fair thing. I flew back into Vegas lastnight. I wish you did come up to me, it would have been nice to see you. Was the wifey with you?
Hell ya we had fun! Hangin out in front of the cafeteria at delta and talking shit on people!! I was married, divorced, and all kinds of crazy shit in between. I have a son now who is 4. He's a chip off the ol' block. Cool as shit! Haha! It's good to hear from you!
You scared me a little, just now, with that last comment! Ha. Actually, this viewpoint is becoming a lot more common these days. I've been hearing more and more people responding positively to traditionally socialist ideas lately. The generation coming into focus is not so well acquainted with the costly follies of past socialist regimes, so they are not as quick to vehemently reject the ideologies of socialism as the previous few generations. Ben said it best: "They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety." As for me, I'd take liberty OR death over state-run socialism any day. Socialism only works if it is voluntary.
they freaking rock, they played a free show up here and I couldn't get tickets it was sold out. I had no idea they were so big, but definitely a new favorite band.
Couldn't agree more with your condolences to Adenhart ... the guy who hit their car was a 21 year-old with a suspended license because he's already had one prior DUI ... unfortunately, that's the world we live in.
