| General | Studying: Archaeology, maritime history, technology, languages, economics, statistics, publishing.
Sporting: SCUBA, sailing, boating, mountain biking, swimming, running, triathlons.
Creating: Writing, photography, web development and design, playing music (guitar, bass, drums), drawing and painting, audio production and engineering, 3d modeling and animation, film making. I am becoming very interested in developing games, particularly serious games or edutainment.
Helping: I am an active Freemason: an officer of a blue lodge and Scottish Rite. | | Music | Jazz, Bebob, Folk, Roots, Blues, Rockabilly, Bluegrass, and just about anything else. Grateful Dead is my favorite band. I'm a closet metalhead, love grunge, thrash and hardcore surf music. I play drums, bass, and guitar and have been in several bands with many different styles. I continue to play, but don't gig anymore. | | Movies | Love movies, fascinated by visual storytelling. Favorite film is The Big Lebowski. | | Television | TV junkie, but trying to cut down and got rid of most of my cable package. Despise "reality television," love documentary television. Shark Week rules. | | Books | Usually have three or four going simultaneously, take a long time to finish them. Fond of historical books. Have a hard time finding good new literature, most modern fiction is so plot driven it becomes rather predictible. I'd like to write a book one of these days and have many ideas, but have so many diverse interests and projects gonig on that it is hard to finish any one of them. | | Heroes | Stan Waterman, Ted Turner, Peter Benchley, Gilbert Grosvenor, Ernest Hemmingway, Elvis Costello, Tom Petty, Buddy Holly, George Clinton, Dick Dale, Buck Owens, Stan Lee, F.
