Yo. Green = New w/e color

Current mood:sleepy

okay, so i was reading my seventeen magazine just now and came upon this page with some things you might like to know.

FIRST:
If you have an old cell phone just lying around not in use or activated you can actually sell it to this company. This is what it says word for word in my mag:
"Fill out a form and mail in your phone--and you'll receive a check. (for example, you could get $19 for an old SLVR) Plus, the company plants a tree for every phone it receives."
The website is www.greenphone.com

oh and if your phone is in poor quality, it's prolly not worth anything. :P i just looked at a quote b/c my phone was run over. But good news, you can still donate your phone to a charity rather than just chunk it in the trash.
#1: www.collectivegood.com/mvy.asp.
OR
#2: take the phone to Staples for free recycling. Funds generated go to the Sierra Club, America's oldest environmental organization.

SECONDLY:
Instead of using google, you can use www.goodsearch.com
"The Yahoo-powered engine donates 50 percent of its advertising revenues to any charity of your choice."
I thought that was pretty cool. so I used it and donated 75cents so far today to mine. haha. :) which is "Stewpot Community Services (Jackson, MS)"

THIRDLY:
I know i get tired of getting crap junk mail in my mailbox. whether it
be from colleges i don't care about, grocery store things or ads
telling me to buy a car from them. If you're sick of them too, you can
go to www.greendimes.com to learn how you can take your name off any
random mailing lists. we got a Marbaro(sp?) cig thing in the mail 2
days ago. none of us have ever smoked...it's crap and just gets thrown
away.

FOURTHLY? (ha!)
eBAY is doing this sweepstakes thing.
www.eBAY/greenteam.
you enter to win a $5000 shopping thing or one of thousands of other prizes. *whoo* ima do it. :)

LASTLY:
when you go to the ATM machine, don't print off a receipt. unless you
feel that you must do so. according to this, "ATM receipts are a HUGE source
of litter. (If everyone in the US stopped printing them, we'd save a
receipt roll more than 2 billion feet long) Check your balance on
screen instead."

But once again, you don't have to. i found that interesting though.

I hope I didn't waste too much of your time w/ useless information. I thought it was good stuff. Have a good day. oh and this magazine also has a lot of ways to go green if you're interested send me a comment or w/e. :) I think it's kind of fun going green but that could be just me. Y'all have a good day. Pass on the information if you want.

(song of the moment: Ur so Gay - Katy Perry <3 it.)
