Jeremy, you have such a richly textured voice in the range you sing "Don't Ask that Question". It is a great match for the acoustic guitar, they blend like the two apparati of velcro- the hooks and the loops. Of course, and this should be no surprise- I would, as a listener, prefer to hear both with less flange, or whatever that effect is. I think it thieves some of the depth because it adds too much in the 800Hz- 2k range. I am listening on BOSE, if that makes a dif. But good job. Keep up the creating. Without creation, we are only consumers.

Jeremy, Great stuff these two tunes: "Carly's Eyes" and Don't Ask That Question". For me these were very original, I like the words and the big acoustic feel. A bit like "The Band" meets some "Allman Bros", meets "Little Feat". Very Cool Stuff! Keep it coming!

just gave the new songs a listen Das...loved them both! Of course being a harp player I was waiting for a crashing harp solo by you at the end of the first one, but even without it, it's fantastic stuff. Thanks for sharing!

just a note on live vocals. I just saw a show in a good house with an adequate sound system. The vocals of every single act- including Manton and John Sinclair were utterly drowned out by the instrumentalists. This has been the case with EVERY live show I have seen in Detroit. WTF?!!! Does't anyone give a f** about the vocalist? I say the only thing in these small venues that should be going through the PA system is the vocals. Everything else should run out of back-line gear. It's utter Bullshite that an electric guitarist with a stack should insist on going through the PA. THIS, Jeremy- THIS!- is one of the MAIN reasons I refuse to join a band- of any kind.

I agree about ecstasy. Just a note that ecstasy is not only found in the relation of one's successes (which are merely perceived to be successes against an untold future. i.e. your success as a breadwinner which almost destroyed other things) but ecstasy can be achieved in the relation of one's sorrows, disasters, and abandonments, again, failures, all, but only because we have perceived them to be so against the backdrop of an untold future. By the time we reach the future, there is no telling if our greatest sufferings were really the seed of our greatest triumphs.

So, I say: If one wants to continue to appreciate (to the point of utter tears) the eternal beauty of a lost loved one- then they rightly should. For there is ecstatic recognition in even that which we have "lost."

Some guy said to me the other night, "Man, I fucked up. I lost her." I said:

"You didn't lose her;
She's just somewhere else."

I got to get over to Livonia. Hope you and Robin are well. See you soon.
