    OFFICIAL DEBUT DAS FRINGE ALBUM RELEASED SOON ON BIG PRINT 2001. As a response to the stifling rise in tribute culture, Pubic Fringe were formed to be the 'anti-covers band', reducing everything from Kip Tyler and The Sonics through Rod Stewart and Billy Joel to a 2-chord fuckabilly grind. It wasn't meant to be anything more than 5 friends having fun. But then The Fall happened, John Cooper Clark happened, The Damned happened, The Magic Band happened, The Nightingales happened.... Goddam it! These boys got good and people took notice. Just had to get past the Splodgenessabounds-type name and they were away. But why handicap yourself like that over a name that was MEANT to be rubbish? 2006. The band have grown and moved on. They will always be Pubic Fringe. They will never be Pubic Fringe again. They ARE Das Fringe. Raus!
