Ok....this may sound complicated, but try to follow along. Dashboard Mary was originally formed about 6-7 years ago. Many line up changes have occured over the years but two founding members...Joe Delrosso and Robbie Roman, still remain part of the band today. About 4 years ago, Joe and Rob were looking for a new drummer. That's when they decided to call on Chris Langan (former drummer of the band Neighbor X). At the time, a new lead singer was also needed to complete the line up. But with no luck, and anxious to get back out playing, the three decided to form an acoustic act under a new name featuring Chris on lead vocals and congas. That band was named 3C*jr.
After a couple years playing mainly acoustic shows, the band felt it was time to plug back in. However, a decision had to be made whether Chris would go back behind the drums, or come out front full time. Figuring that he had already known the lyrics to all the songs, and a drummer would be a little easier to find, Chris stepped out front as full time lead singer.
That's when the band called upon long time area drummer Kevin Conway to to complete the new line up. With a new line up, a new name was needed. This was the birth of SMACK DADDY.
Still with me? Ok....Smack Daddy played together for about a year. Due to conflicting schedules with Kevin's other band, Rob, Chris, and Joe were left looking for yet another drummer. Luckily, a good friend, Keith "Schroeder" Eckstein (former drummer of FUZZPIPE) was available and joined the three.
The entire band had decided to make the final name change...HOPEFULLY!! The original name...DASHBOARD MARY....was to be the final adjustment to years of changes.
In December of 2008, Chris and the band parted ways, amicabley of course,for personal reasons....Enter Jay Orrell at lead vocals and rythym who also comes from the band Fuzz Pipe(he was actually the founder of that band).
Last year, Dashboard Mary released their debut album "Somebody's In Here". The cd is now available at all of our shows, online, etc...
