My top producer influences are Quincy Jones, Jay Dilla (or known as Jay Dee from Slum Village - R.I.P.), DJ Premiere, Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, DJ Quik, Prince, Timbo, Beethoven (The Sagittarius), Jimi Hendrix (The Sagittarius), Curtis Mayfield and ALL the unknown DOPE producers WHO MAKE THEIR OWN BEATS!!!!
On second thought, I would regard producers who have other people involved in their creative process as "composers", but i still respect those that do and write their own work as I do....I feel like I'm last of a dying breed sometimes
