..DATAPANIK:.... Michael Lampe is the architect of freshness in what is the fastest moving genre of Electro and Soca creating a whole new aural experience: Caribelectro & Soca bounce. Based on the firm foundation of musical heritage from his small Caribbean Island of Aruba, he has build a house of solid bass, wired with the electronic circuitry he picked up when studying Music technology & composition in the school of art, Netherlands. Living in Germany the last three years he has roofed his main frame of sound with analogue finishes. All this adds up to an architectural piece that represents Michael’s background and skill… .... “Grand Cylinder” is his latest project where he uses the raw sound of the “Caha di Orgel”. Het past goed bij zijn eeuwige zoektocht naar exotische kruisbestuivingen met westerse dansmuziek. Michael ‘Datapanik’ Lampe probeert een specifiek Arubaanse sound te creëren, met een Europese inslag. “Ik ben in 1999 begonnen met het project Datapanik”, vertelde hij. “Het idee was om allerlei elementen samen te voegen die mij als jongen hebben beïnvloed. Latijns-Amerikaans, Caribisch, Mariachimuziek, Europese muziek. Ik kom uit een muzikale familie. Mijn vader was elke dag met muziek bezig. De Arubaanse muzikant Datapanik kreeg hoog bezoek op zijn releasefeestje vorige maand: ster-dj en producer Diplo was die avond eregast. De Amerikaan moest de volgende ochtend om zeven uur weer in het vliegtuig zitten, maar voor die tijd dook hij gretig met zijn neus in de Arubaanse muziekcultuur. Het past goed bij zijn eeuwige zoektocht naar exotische kruisbestuivingen met westerse dansmuziek.
