No other name could describe the uproarious style of Norwood, Bronx native Steven Perez, known to his fans as Tempest. The Puerto Rican prodigy, known for his ferocious braggadocio which hits the listener's ear like galeforce winds, has been a tumultuous presence in the rap game since honing his craft back in High School.
It was while attending Dewitt Clinton High School that he found inspiration to try his hand at rap. Tempest was given an assignment by his English teacher to create a poem. Noticing his lyrical prowess, Tempest decided to translate that gift into speech, and the result is a man who years later is one of the East Coast's top rising linguists.

In the years since the genesis of what Tempest has described as "The World's Longest and Deadliest Storm," he has completed three works of art reflective of all the complex qualities of his life. The first entry, "Tha Scriptures Mixtape", marked the first collaboration between Tempest and renowned East Coast personality DJ Chaplin. The project offered a glimpse into his dynamic style and personality, with tracks lamenting about love mixed with songs depicting the same Bronx streets from which he hailed from. The mixtape served its purpose, giving Tempest the neccessary buzz to promote his first big album.
"Tha Storm is Comin'" can be considered a metaphor of the music found within the title's same name. The first true Tempest album was a prophecy of the "violent commotion" that the industry would be in store for in the upcoming years. Songs such as the title track, New Man, and Life N Rap showed Tempest keeping his serious subject matter intact while expirimenting with a more mainstream feel to rock the crowd.
But it wasnt until his latest project, which many are already considering his magnum opus, "Tha King Is Here" that Tempest finally deployed the peak point of his hurricane-like takeover in rap today. The song Come On Over, poised to be the biggest hit of his career, has already been featured prominently in the New York, East Coast, and even Midwest areas. Critics and fans alike have called this the most complete Tempest offering yet, with one critique going as far to say "This is the point of the storm where people should take cover, because he's showing you its not a game no more".

1/4 of the original founders of Stick 2 Tha Script Productions, Tempest has emerged in what over time has become a strong partnership with the upcoming Detroit rapper JYoung The General. The group, also including CL Sosa, StewRAT, DJ Supreme, and last but certainly not least Veinz (who produced all of Tha Storm Is Comin'), has made several appearances on Tempest albums to date. On songs such as Pass That, Stick 2 Tha Script Anthem, and Script Niggas, Tempest shows that he lives his name by getting the group hype with his intense delivery.
However, The World's Longest and Deadliest Storm is far from over. It hasn't even hit Retcon 4 yet. Prepared to be unleashed on every region in the country, the storm, having already hit countries like England and Germany, is poised to project its fury on every international piece of land that you can find a fan of Tempest at.
