The Dauphin County Parks & Recreation Department is located in the Tavern House at Fort Hunter Park. This building was originally used as a Tavern in the early 1800's and later as housing for the cook and milking crew at Fort Hunter. The Parks & Recreation Department offers a variety of programming for youth and adults, in addition to the programming that is sponsored by the individual parks. For more information call (717)599-5188 or visit us on the web at www.dauphincounty.org/parks-recreation .
The Dauphin County Parks & Recreation Department contributes to the recreation and education of County residents and tourists through programs and parks. We are also involved in activities generally relating to conservation in the County.
The Dauphin County Park system includes seven areas, the Community Gardens, Fort Hunter Park, Fort Hunter Conservancy, Henninger Bridge, Lykens Glen Park, Wiconisco Creek Park, and Wildwood Park.
