Oscar D’Auria was born in Buenos Aires, in this city he studied drumming with
Maestro Alberto Alcalá and piano at Instituto Santa Cecilia. In Spain he studied
percussion at Real Conservorio de Madrid.
He lived, taught and played in Argentina, Spain, France and the United States of
America - where he did studio work too -.
D’Auria toured Russia, France, Spain, Denmark, Portugal, Argentina, Germany,
Italy, Mexico, Nicaragua, Venezuela, Colombia, Peru, Paraguay, Bolivia, Chile, Japan, The Philippines, Malaysia, Taiwan, Singapore and Hong Kong.
Among his pedagogical credits he counts up being the first teacher that taught
drumming at the Escuela Popular de Música del SADEM (people’s school of
music of the Argentine musicians’ union)
His continuous contribution to promote the art of drumming is unquestionable,
proof of this are his seminars, clinics, TV courses, “The Song and the Licks” /
instruction video and several methods - “An Approach to Rock” for one- with
subsequent reprints.
His style is crude despite his academic training, but aware of dynamics and the
subtleties of each musical genre.In the music and show business he is a respected
and sought-after musician for his experience as well as his talent and professionalism.
Oscar is present on albums and videos of well-known artists, and with his
creation AFROTANGO on the CD’s “Latin Fantasy”, “Afro Tango” and “Tango 2000”.
At present his touring with his rock-fusion band "D'Auria Camacho Trio".
Oscar D’Auria is undoubtedly a remarkable artistic personality in constant evolution.
