Blurbs

About me:

I am a part-time professional photographer in Bellingham, Washington. I have a website at www.DaveWard.net, and I post my photography work on Flickr. I also record my own original music as Smaragd.

Much of my photography is of the wonderful models I work with. I am exploring all styles of portraiture: traditional portraits, glamour, fashion, boudoir, commercial work, conceptual, art-nude/erotica, and fine-art photography.

I am always looking for new models. Most of my models are female, aged 18-30. I am, however, interested in working with younger and older subjects, and would also like to photograph some male subjects. But my emphasis is on female subjects.

My shooting rates are reasonable and negotiable. If you want to shoot for free, then see my TF* (free) shooting conditions and wants/needs.

Shooting Wants/Needs

Commercial, catalog, fashion, glamor, art portrait, conceptual, pin-up & cheesecake (à la Gil Elvgren), historical/vintage/aged (esp. Victorian and Edwardian era), mythology/fairytale, new pictorialism (à la Ann Brigman etc), bridal (both formal and "trash the dress"), on location at abandoned buildings, on location in nature (North Cascades, Mount Baker, etc), Steampunk, Gothic, Art Nouveau (à la Alphonse Mucha), Pre-Raphaelite (à la Waterhouse), cosplay, and so much more.

Special needs: Harajuku, fashion, schoolgirl, Victorian. If you are interested in any of those and have (or can get) the clothing, please contact me!

Also looking specifically to shoot more art nudes and erotica — if you are willing/interested, just say the word.

TF* (free) Work Conditions

Yes, I still do TF* work, but there are a few conditions now. It's simple — don't be put off:

(1) The shoot HAS to be something that I feel will really benefit my portfolio. If you want to shoot something that I specifically need/want for my portfolio, I'll probably be happy to work with you. It helps to have a really good idea for a shoot. Being an experienced model — or just a total knockout — also helps, of course! In short, offer me something special — a great idea, your own experience, fulfill one of my shooting needs (above) — and I'll probably work with you TF*.

(2) All TF* work now and in the future will require a model release to be signed. For the shots to just sit in my portfolio is no longer enough for the value of the time and labor I invest in shoots and post-production. I have a standard release which will enable me to publish the photos in a retrospective book, place them on stock sites, offer them to a magazine, etc.

The above rules are for TF* shoots. If I am being compensated for the shoot in some other way, those rules do not apply. I will work in trade, BTW — I need female clothing for shoots (especially vintage), old cameras, props, or other goods. Will also shoot in exchange for services, such as if you can do hair & makeup for other shoots.

If you want to shoot with me, bear all of the above in mind. And then drop me a line by email, dave [at] daveward [dot] net
