Well I've enabled the album for free in the hope I will find more ears for it to play to. Go forth little CD.
Hi, greetings, good evening or afternoon. Thanks for stopping by.
I'm Dave, shock horror, so I won't talk in 3rd person pretending to be the next biggest thing. I don't harbour intentions to take over the world, but I would like to continue indulging in my true love - playing music, and I guess to do that I could use your help.
My debut album is up there, and it got pretty good reviews from my mates, my tiny following and a couple of main st newspapers in Sydney. I used to live in Sydney but I now live in Melbourne. But I'm originally from Perth. These 3 places are in Australia for those reading this in a foreign land.
I seriously doubt you have even bothered to read this far as there is so much other stuff to do, like check your facebook profile and stuff. But if you have, and you listen and like my stuff, please join up my mailing list so I can continue to entertain you via email once a month, as well as hopefully get you along to one of my gigs, where I will be doing my absolutely darnest to ensure you have a blast. Looping, violins, crowd sing alongs, and carefully constructed covers. Talk to you soon and hopefuly see you soon. Oh and I hope you like my music.
Here are some reviews...I know this seems like bragging a bit, but some people like the reassurance. Anyway I'm kind of secretly proud of these.
ALBUM REVIEW - SYDNEY MORNING HERALD
4/5: "...some upbeat tunes cleverly cover up some personal fustrations while the quieter acoustic moments convey just the right amount of emotion" Sydney Morning Herald SEE SMH REVIEW
ALBUM REVIEW - SUNDAY TELEGRAPH
3.5/5: "Dave's album would sit comfortably on the shelves next to your Pete Murray album's" Sunday Telegraph SEE TELEGRAPH REVIEW
Wow thank you so much! Huge compliment coming from someone whose page I have spent a hefty amount of time on listening to your stuff. Thank you so much I'm so happy that you dig my sound.
Wishing you the best of luck, though I'm pretty certain you don't need it ;)
Daaave!! Guess what? I'm getting my unintentional stalk on in September/October!
Here's my story..
I booked a ticket to Blueprint Festival, cuz Epicure were playing. Booked a weekend in Sydney the weekend before. Then Juan tells me they're touring in September. So here I am thinking they'll play Sydney when I'm in Melbourne and Melbourne when I'm in Sydney and probably play some random place when I'm at Blueprint on the days they're not playing.
BA BOWWW, I WAS DELIGHTFULLY WRONG!!
So! I'm in Melbourne when they're in Melbourne, Sydney when they're in Sydney and.. yeah! Thaaaat means I get to come and see you play with Epicure at the Vanguard!! YEAH!
If you really crashed your car because you were car-dancing and drumming on your steering wheel to Epicure, I will give you a well deserved high-5 when we finally meet.. properly. Like, when I actually know who you are.
The closest I've come to that is I kind of had a little accident right before an Epicure gig a while ago.. errhhh, I was an absolute mess that night hahaha poor Epicure!
