Dave Anthony, a native of Wilmington, Delaware, began playing drums at the age of 7. For six years he studied jazz with Berklee Music grad Tim Laushey (Tommy Dorsey). Anthony started playing professionally at the age of 18 when he landed the job with the Australian rock group Heaven (Columbia Records). Around this time he also worked with guitar virtuoso Vinnie Moore (Mercury Records). At 21, Anthony moved to Los Angeles, where he soon landed the gig with A&M artist Eric Eden. This gig enabled him to record at the legendary Power Station in New York City with producer Hugh Padgham (Sting, Paul McCartney, Peter Gabriel), working with such noted musicians as Carlos Alomar (David bowie), Ray Cooper (Elton John, Eric Clapton), Dominic Miller (Sting), Lenny Pickett (Saturday Night Live), and Gerald Albright.
After a few years, Anthony returned to the East Coast and began performing with regional blues guitarist Tom Larsen. While recording and touring with Larsen, Anthony became active in the studio scene, recording numerous CDs and demos for a variety of artists, including three albums for Canadian label Star Records. Anthony continued to perform and record regionally until landing an eight year stint with the rock band IKE (formerly the John Faye Power Trip), WWW.IKEONLINE.NET. In his years with IKE, Anthony recorded three CDs and shared the stage with such acts as Bon Jovi, REM, Matthew Sweet, Train, Cracker, Better Than Ezra, and Fountains Of Wayne. He has recorded with producers Nick DiDia (Pearl Jam, Stone Temple Pilots), Phil Nicolo (Billy Joel, Urge Overkill), Butch Walker (Avril Lavigne, Lit), and Don McCollister (Indigo Girls, Sister Hazel). His work with McCollister also included two songs recorded with Evan and Jaron (Columbia Records).
While living in philadelphia, Anthony also worked with solo artist Cliff Hillis (Not Lame), and recorded on the The Jane Anchor cd,Second Wave. Recently, Anthony began writing and recording his own instrumental music(myspace.com/daveanthonymusic), and trying his hand at producing(myspace.com/themlms).
