“Under the social dictionary, next to the word entertainment there's a photo of Dave Boodakian. He's what every venue needs. Dave is so versatile that he can play your teenager's birthday in the afternoon, and your orgy later that night.”

Raised in Boston and now living in San Diego, Dave has played bars, clubs, coffeehouses, colleges, nursing homes, navy ships, bedrooms, campfires, parties, and the streets of Harvard Square for over 15 years (no orgies just yet, but one strip club!). Now recording for his highly anticipated second album, Dave is building a name for himself in San Diego with energy-packed live performances.
Dave is not your conventional up-and-coming musician. In 2005 he graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy and is currently an officer on the USS GREEN BAY (LPD-20). While at Annapolis, Dave spent three years as the front man for the Harper Collins Band, a group of Naval Academy students who became known for upbeat rock shows and packed houses and at local clubs and bars. Dave and his band mates graduated and flew to all corners of the world and Dave found himself in the great city of San Diego. In between duties at sea, Dave plays many coffeehouses and clubs in Southern California, as well as a weekly bar gig at his favorite downtown San Diego spot – The Local. Still pushing to explore his potential in such a music-friendly city, Dave is joined by some of the finest musicians in San Diego and working on his second CD with producer Isaac Caballero. The CD will combine full-band recordings of Dave’s classic songs, “Lipstick Lesbian” and “High School Hero” along with his new songs, which include “Candyman” and “Hell for the Company”.
Dave will surely tell you that live performances are the backbone of what he does. He understands that being a great singer/songwriter means so much more than putting words down on paper. Drawing people in with his exceptional songwriting, he uses delivery and passion to distinguish himself as not only a skillful musician but also a charismatic entertainer. In a recent interview Dave shared his mantra, "When writing music, I'm an artist, when playing I'm a musician, but when I'm performing - I'm an entertainer."
Dave is currently booking shows in Northern California, Colorado, Arizona and at colleges across the United States. His second CD is due to be released in 2008.
