Dave DeMarco Thanks to everyone who came to the Bourbon Street show. What a party! We'll be doing it all again on 12/23 @ Recher. Same 3 bands! Dün devamı
I get to play music all day long! Mostly this means playing bass and singing and ever so occasionally it entails drums or keys. My primary band is Cloudbreak, a modern-progressive band which has been around since the late 90's and which I've just recently joined.
In the pursuit of total musical fulfillment, in 2006 I assembled the Dave DeMarco Band with friends from my favorite local bands. We play a w i d e variety of cool rock covers. The DDB (and its acoustic duo counterpart) plays anywhere from 2-5x/month.
Still craving more, I also gig with:
Everybody Wants Some
Seventh Son
Kajun Kelley Band
Ben Sherman Group
TDK
Oh Yeah Sure
The Waffles
BiggerBetterFasterMore
Mickey Cucchiella's GreatWhiteLionSnake
Previously, it's been: Oblivion Sun, Wes McDonough, Never Never, Rebel Amish Radio, Steele, The Name, Battery Apple, Soulcage, Kirk's Money Brothas, Flavia Canel (Drain STH) and Elise Major. I also LOVE doing fill-ins with bands who need a bassist for an evening. It's always a blast getting to learn new songs and play with new people. Last year between the regulars and the fill-ins, I think I ended up playing with something like 22 bands. Yup, good times!
When I'm not gigging, it usually means I'm giving lessons or I'm in the studio. I've got about 50 students now and they're a great bunch of folks to work with. I keep them challenged and they keep me inspired. I've got 2 locations - Baltimore and Silver Spring. Feel free to drop me a line if you're a bassist looking to add some new tools to the toolbox or just to fill in the blanks with some of the fundamentals. My goal is to remove the obstacles that prevent bassists from getting the most out of their playing.
As a session guy I've had the good fortune to play on CDs with well-known players like Frank Gambale, Brett Garsed, TM Stevens, Larry Fast and members of ToP as well as a long list of local artists who are making great music. I believe in taking an active role in helping to promote the artists whose CDs I've played on. This year, it's looking like I'll have 3 or 4 CDs out, so you can expect to read more about them here and I'll post some songs as well.
The songs I currently have posted represent a cross section of some of the styles I like - fusion, funk rock, prog, roots rock, metal and film score music. Check the blog for more info about each piece and www.davedemarco.com for more music.
Also on the session tip, I've composed, played on and helped produce a series of jam-along CDs for drummers called Turn It Up & Lay It Down. Each CD focuses on a specific style of music and allows drummers to master feel, grooves and soloing while playing along to some great songs and with some incredible players. Check out www.drumfun.com or look in my top friends below. Other notable session work has been TV work for Fox, ESPN and MTV's Punk'd and numerous DVD trailers and feature film sountrack work. There's a cool video clip below of a trailer for an indie film called "Night Sounds" for which I composed two pieces.
In the scant few hours each week that I don't have my hands in something musical, those hands are usually filled with my hottie wife, Mary. She is the total pro band wife, dealing with all the insanity (mine and that of others) and still managing to have my back at all times. Best of all though, she can recite line by line, the dialog of any episodes of The Office that I miss.
I feel blessed to be this involved with music. It's been a great ride so far and the best is yet to come! My good friend Jeff Merson once told me, "The key to fulfilment is being the most self-expressed person you can be". I agree but I'd add that helping others find success is a necessary step towards fulfillment as well. Let me know if I can help you find success.

Kimle tanışmak isterim: I met Mike Keneally so I can scratch that one off the list. Others - Clint Eastwood, Steve Vai, Robert Fulghum, and God. In that order....and then maybe God would be so kind as to introduce me to Kevin Gilbert.

Just stopping by to say hi since it's been a while. Hope you are staying busy, and that you have lots of projects in the works. We certainly are keeping busy. You'd think things would have slowed down with the economy and all but, we're busier than ever.
Drop me a line sometime when you have a chance. I'd love to hear what you are up to.
Absolutely great time at Mac's...for once I wasn't driving so I was at the mercy of the driver, had to leave..will catch up with you sometime- thanks for a great show!
