Below are quotes from some personal heros of mine:

"I have from an early age abjured the use of meat, and the time will come when men such as I will look upon the murder of animals as they now look upon the murder of men." -Leonardo Da Vinci

"Nothing will benefit human health and increase chances for survival of life on Earth as much as the evolution to a vegetarian diet." -Albert Einstein

"Your body has absolutely no nutritional requirement for the flesh or milk of other animals." -Michael Klaper, MD

"The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated." -Ghandhi

"Non-violence leads to the highest ethics, which is the goal of all evolution. Until we stop harming all other living beings, we are still savages." -Thomas Edison

"The love for all living creatures is the most noble attribute of man." -Charles Darwin

"A man can live and be healthy without killing animals for food; therefore, if he eats meat, he participates in taking animal life merely for the sake of his appetite. And to act so is immoral." -Leo Tolstoy

"Animals are God's creatures, not human property, nor utilities, nor resources, nor commodities, but precious beings in God's sight." -Rev. Dr Andrew Linzey

"How are we to build a new humanity? Only by leading men toward a true, inalienable ethic of our own. . . Reverence for life. Reverence for life comprises the whole ethic of life in its deepest and highest sense. It is the source of constant renewal for the individual and for mankind" -Albert Schweitzer

About me:
www.idausa.org

I am
a wannabe filmmaker
a musician
a poet
an artist
a son
a brother
a best friend
a husband
a father
a vegetarian
an interesting conversationalist
an experimental gourmet chef
a person with something to say
a good listener
an open mind
I am an audio/videophile... I love a large variety of music and I can construct an entire conversation with only quotes from movies. I'm a fan of video games as most guys are and I love comic books, most notably Spider-Man & Batman. I grew up in the '80s, so I have a soft spot for all things from the era of Reagan and Rubik's cubes. When I'm not too busy with my life as an aspiring rock star/feature film director, I fund myself by day conducting asset management and development for Dell Inc. I support local happenings and businesses. My heart belongs to Austin, so don't mess with Texas!

Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

dave, one thing i forgot to mention is that i picked up a radar detector for my commute - i've had the cooper up to 110 mph on the tollway in the morning on my way in....definately signs of midlife crisis.... i throw my scooter (razor) not motorized in the trunk and hook it like 20 blocks to my office (parking is free on the outskirts of downtown) ... yeahh... life is sweet
