Yours truly on guitars and vocals........The embarrassingly superb Lesley Yule plays fiddle on James of the Glen. Lesley is a member of that bubbling cauldron of talent of a band - Rudeigin. New CD Avalon is now available at www.davegibb.co.uk
Influences
Everyone you can think of from The Monkees to Richard Thompson via Mississippi John Hurt, Black Sabbath, The Who, Tom Paxton, Gordon Lightfoot, Paul Simon, Dylan, The Band, Pentangle, Rolling Stones, Beatles, The Corries, Small Faces, the Sands Family, Taj Mahal, etc...... My stuff is pretty folky though.

Ah...well....that's for you to decide. But here's a wee Burns song to be going on with - Green Grow the Rashes
I believe that everyday the world become a little less ugly because someone writes a poem, composes music , plays a tune. This is proof that there are angels in the world. Thanks for being an angel!

Hi, Dave. The last time we chatted, we were complaining about the rain. Now we're complaining about the lack of it! Try putting your head in the river and who knows? you might get a gold nugget stuck in your hair! Whoops. Sorry!
Love your songs Dave :)) SUNAS a celtic 4 piece are heading to Scotland later this year .. maybe they will be somewhere near you . They are on My friends list :)) Sounds like a full on summer over there ** Pat :)) www.folkredlands.com
Hello Big Yin,hows things? Hope all's well. I meant to say I saw you in Airdrie a few weeks back in your tin flute - well I think it was you. But Her Indoors drives that fast and recklessly I couldnt be sure, and combining that with my agedly slow reaction speed we were a mile up the road before I thought, "that was Dave" !
Thanks for that, Dave. I don't think royalties come into it? I've also changed the lyrics of the Classic "Peggy Sue" to "Desi Sou". I doubt if Mr. Holly will object. Yes, the rain was pretty aweful yesterday but I've known worse, usually at festivals. Last year at Solfest comes to mind. St. Bee's Head was the wettest place in Britain. I hope Sellafield wasn't flooded out. As if we would ever get to know. Alsithi
Eh up, Dave. Just thought I'd pop by and say "Haoi" and "ciamar a tha sibh?" I've been regularly listening to the recording - it's brill. Thanks for letting me do it. But a favour to ask of you. May I pass it on to a couple of friends, Crissie Black and Gwen Hechle (both on my top friends)? Alsithi soon, Jules
