Dave Glardon's Comedian Bio
|
| Bio | Dave Glardon is a product of the fifties who came of age in the seventies and is still trying to figure out the nineties. Since 1999, he has amused readers and live audiences with his witty perspective on life. It's spicy, irreverent, and provocative, yet tame enough for the family. Well, most families.
Dave entered the world of comedy with his award-winning humor column. Since that time, his weekly readership has spread to more than 30 countries around the world. In April 2003, a major Middle Eastern news organization named Dave among today's top ten humorists. Humor truly is universal.
Later that year, Dave took his humor to the stage with an open mic performance at Wiley's Comedy Nightclub in Dayton, Ohio. It was late and the audience was half-asleep, but he managed to wake them up enough to send them home. "Just think, all those drunk drivers on the road because of me!" After that, there was no turning back.
One year later, he achieved notoriety by clinching a spot as a finalist in not one, but two regional comedy showdowns. After all was said and done, Dave came away with a second-place win in the "Funniest Person in Cincinnati" contest sponsored by Go Bananas Comedy Club (Cincinnati, OH).
Dave is a favorite at comedy clubs throughout the Midwest. Audiences love his witty perspective on the things we tend to take for granted, but usually don't discuss around the dinner table. From medical exams to parenting, he finds the humor in every situation and leaves audiences begging for more. | | Website | daveglardon.com | | TV Shows | Dayton Public Television - celebrity auctioneer (2004 - 2006); Happy Hour with Kay Frances (talk show guest) | | Films | Project Charlie (post-production working title): Played Johnny Cannoli, a retired comedian whose protege has been offered his first televised appearance. |

Dave Glardon's Interests
|
| General | I want a beer, and I want to see something nekkid ..... (thank you Jeff Foxworthy!) | | Music | Seventies rock. All of it. Except Stevie Nicks. I'd rather hear cats trying to climb a chalkboard. | | Movies | That costs money, right??? | | Television | Given the choices, I prefer washing dishes. | | Books | Um ... I almost never read. I write for a living. I just can't get motivated to spend my leisure time on the other end of a book. | | Heroes | Mom - she's the one who first encouraged me to write, and always taught me never to take anything too seriously --- least of all, myself. |

Dave Glardon's Blurbs |
About me:
I'm a product of the fifties who came of age in the seventies, and is still trying to figure out the nineties. I've been married 27 years, and I've got two grown daughters, a seven year-old grandson, a cat, and a lawnmower. But I'm not sure the lawnmower is really mine.

Who I'd like to meet:
A singing scarecrow, a wisecracking alien, and an honest politician. In that order. Because if the first two really exist ..... who knows?????
