General fun that you'd expect, I like to read tho'.
Music
Beatles Bob Dylan Ramones Black Flag Sabbath Zep Floyd Priest Maiden SST AmRep loud guitars screaming vocals or "pretty" in an Emmylou Harris kinda way. Earlier this year I was obsessed with Julian Cope and mid-80's Boston bands like Kilslug and Lyres. Now my big thing is 80's/early 90's thrash that I ignored back then (although I liked it and had plenty of Nuclear Assault, Wehrmacht, Death/Dark Angel, etc etc etc). Stuff I ignored like Exciter "Long Live The Loud" and Megadeth "Rust In Peace", particularly the song "Rust in Peace...Polaris". Their current live show and new album "United Abominations" made me wonder why I've been ignoring them all these years, even though my Metallica & Slayer collections remain complete even after their subpar later releases. My current band is A Bunch of Girls and I implore you to check that page out. Previous bands include Saint Bastard, Second Ex-Beatle To Die, Butt Ox and Suck.
Movies
Everything You Always Wanted To Know About Sex But Were Afraid To Ask, Snoopy Come Home, Bad Lieutenant, Yellow Submarine, The Wall, Rock 'n' Roll High School, One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest, Blue Velvet, Annie Hall, The Jerk, Animal House, Repo Man, This Is Spinal Tap. Any Marx Brothers, Woody Allen, David Lynch, David Cronenberg, Pedro Almodovar, Martin Scorcese or Francis Ford Coppola is fine by me. Lately watching classics from the B&W era. Just saw Le Millon and like the sentiment.
Television
Cable is off.
Books
The Catcher In The Rye, Tom Sawyer for classics. In year 2 of a line-by-line 7 year Shakespeare class.
Heroes
I don't know if I have any, really. Greg Ginn circa '84 is my guitar hero.
About me: I book small band club tours per hire, play noisy rock in the role of "guitar/vox", own one 12 year old lady-cat named Luna and live in the East Village of Manhattan.
