......Join my Mocha Club team and get a FREE album download!..! .. .. .. .. .. .. ......Dave's been leading worship for 13 years. Somewhere in the middle of all the worship leading, he served as an associate student minister, a university minister, a worship pastor, and helped plant a church. He's led worship at all sorts of gatherings from Passion Conferences to weekly college worship gatherings. Not to mention more camps than he can count.....Dave's been nominated for a Dove award, has a cut on Casting Crowns Lifesong, produced an album or two, and wrote or co-wrote nearly every song on nearly every album he's done. The truth is, I could give you a list of credentials a mile long that would explain why I'd ask Dave Hunt to come lead worship for any event, retreat, camp, or worship service.....But the reason you'll appreciate Dave as a worship leader has far less to do with his experience or talent and much more to do with who he is. And if you're curious about who Dave is, you don't have to look much farther than his new album Shelter. As if he set the latest season of his life to music, Shelter is a look at a guy who's ever dependent upon God and wide-open to what He has in store. "When Julie and I felt God calling us away from the church where I was serving and into a place that was unknown, it was a little scary - but it was exciting as well. We were trusting that he would lead us, guide us, and put us where he wants us to be. We've already seen his faithfulness," said Dave. "There's nothing more important to me than God - he's my everything, so I want to do what he asks of me, I want to follow where he's leading, even if I'm not sure where we're going."....Title track "Shelter" along with "Needed a Savior" come from an honest place - recognition of an unending need of God, His protection, His guidance, and His friendship. "Wake Me Up" tells the story of waking up to God's glory as creator while on a mission trip to Cape Town, South Africa. Songs like "Offering" and "Use Me" were influenced by a new season of life and the leap of faith Dave's taking in his career.....Perhaps his simple and vulnerable cover of "In Need" is a most-honest account of Dave and his leadership style. "Dave gets out of the way" - that's what a friend said to me when she mentioned what she most appreciated about him as a worship leader. And I can't help but agree. Whether he leads a crowd of 12,000 or a congregation of 50, you hardly notice Dave because he leads you straight to God and Dave is trustworthy to do just that.....Not too long ago someone asked me, "What's Dave Hunt like?" As one who knows him well, I should have described him as a person of humility and deep faith, one who's prayerful and walks with God, who loves his family and is a servant. But at that moment I simply said: "You know, he's just good - in a blameless kind of way. And he's one of the people I most trust to point me to God."........Amy Jacobs......Amy Jacobs is freelance writer based in Nashville, Tenn., who wanted to be in Dave's worship band, but decided to write his bio instead. She knows the Hunt family well-she's traveled on overseas mission trips with them more than once, lived in their home twice, and worshipped with them more times than she can count. She's thankful to call them friends...
