Houston-based jazz guitarist, Dave Illig, has been playing jazz guitar for over thirty years. Dave was featured in the prestigious Just Jazz Guitar Magazine. He has played with many well known artists and is currently performing in the Houston, TX area. There are many influences present in Dave’s playing. Most obvious is jazz legend Wes Montgomery. Also evident is the blues impact and phrasing borrowed from George Benson and others cut from that cloth. His CD Destinations was released in 2004. Music selection ranges from r&b to soul, neo, jazz, funk, hiphop, afrobeat performed by the House of Oni band, emcees Rukus & Soulbrotha, Soul crooner - Marium, and smooth grooves by inhouse DJ. This month, DJ Cashless will be on the 1s and 2s.
Guests will also be treated to performances by our open-mic talent as well as poetry recitations by our guest spoken word artists.
