Bio
Dave Isaacs has released seven albums and logged countless road miles as a solo artist, bandleader, and sideman. He is a seasoned performer with a dynamic presence and a craftsman's touch…rooted in the blues and energized by rock & roll, but with a jazzman's improvisational spirit and the finesse and command of a trained classical guitarist. Dave performs and records with bassist Brook Sutton and drummer Robert Crawford as DI3, a Nashville/New Orleans-based trio. He continues to work as a solo artist leading his own group and as an acoustic soloist. Dave is also a highly creative educator, offering classes, lectures and workshops that help musicians grow by changing the way they think about what they do. He maintains a busy studio on Nashville's Music Row, building musical skills in his students' minds and ears as well as on their instruments. Current and former students include rising young artists (including national and regional contest winners), hit songwriters, and both pro and hobbyist musicians looking for new ways to grow. In the formal academic realm he teaches in the Commercial Music program at Tennessee State University, where he coordinates the annual TSU Guitar Summit, and is also part-time Audio Department faculty at the Art Institute of Tennessee – Nashville. .... He is a seasoned performer with a dynamic presence and a craftsman’s touch…rooted in the blues and energized by rock & roll, but with a jazzman’s improvisational spirit and the finesse and command of a trained classical guitarist. Fronting the DI3 trio, he leads the group effortlessly across genres, tying all the threads together with personality and master musicianship. Dave can conjure up the energy of an entire band all on his own, but the trio performances generate waves of dynamic intensity driven by an irresistible groove.Dave is also a highly creative educator, offering classes, lectures and workshops that help musicians grow by changing the way they think about what they do. He maintains a busy studio on Nashville’s Music Row working with aspiring artists and songwriters, building musical skills in their minds and ears as well as on their instruments. He teaches guitar and Music Technology in the Commercial Music program at Tennessee State University, and is a part-time instructor in the audio department at Art Institute of TN - Nashville
