'The Dark Shadows addresses political issues in the cleverest, celestial way. Take your problems to Dave for a harmonious solution or if you are truly desperate address them to you local MP.' - Out of the Bedroom review
'A lot of the music is gentle acoustic with biting political and social comment but the addition of the electric guitars are what really grabbed me in particular the almost Fall like composition of title track This is Not a Drill. Many have tried this transition later in their careers such as Neil Young and Bob Dylan however David has used this crossing across the folk styles as his starting position and can use this uniqueness to put his messages across to different audiences.' - gigreviewscotland
'Dave, as always, was bellowing and omnipresent and giving it the mad wookie strum. Wired to the moon, wooah ho ha heee haaah... wired to the mooon. Good call Dave.' - James from CentralScene
David Burns (a.k.a. Wookie Dave) is the singer in the band Marshall Chipped, with Roscoe Vacant. He'd spent 2 years as a solo acoustic singer/songwriter before James Blunt made singer/songwriters socially unacceptable.
He still performs solo occasionally, and has released 3 solo cds, but just now he's enjoying being in bands again and turning amps up to eleven. Head over to the Marshall Chipped page for the latest on that, and check out this page for now rare solo Wookie sightings!
David also runs Haiverin' Studios. Contact this site for information on recording.
Marshall Chipped - Wired To The Moon:
David's cd releases 'This Is Not A Drill', 'Miller's Folly' and 'All The King's Horses', with songs such as Empty Promises, The Dark Shadows, and Star, have been playlisted on several internet and student radio stations including Sub City Radio, Earwax, Radio Nowhere, Fresh Air, and Air3 1350.
Marshall Chipped tracks have been played on BBC Radio One and BBC Radio Scotland.

I'm an idiot! I didn't have my glasses on last night and kept looking at the big guy in Dave's band thinking "that guy looks a lot like David Burns!". Sorry for not saying hello. Good set. All the best, Cal.
Having released a couple of tuneful albums with theAudiologist and Soni Jimm since my last LP, "Fear of Mathematics", Section 27 Netlabel brings you "Wrpdata”, containing 14 tracks full of chunky, breathy and some would even say pleasantly broken breaks, some good-time-mind-fuck glitch, a few (thankfully blissful) orchestrated mixes featuring the talents of Pinklogik and theAudiologist (also acting as co-producer on this release) respectively, and ends sweetly with some beautiful spoken word poetry by the lovely aussie Cindel Waddington.
A delight on the sensory organs from start to finish, "Wrpdata" is available now for *free* download. Licensed by Creative Commons.
