Dave Keller's blistering guitar skills coupled with his deep commitment to songcrafting has made his name synonymous with authentic blues and soul. His band has evolved over the years, and after a thousand or so gigs, the current incarnation is a soul and blues quartet focusing on original, heartfelt songs that range from funk to ballads of a caliber reminiscent of The Beale Streeters or the Stax titans of the 60's.
Dave has released three albums, the most recent of which PLAY FOR LOVE is a slowburning effort that's understated and astute. Ira Friedman flavors the tracks with the unmistakable comfort and molten texture that only a Hammond organ can offer.
Currently, Dave is working with Ronnie Earl (of Roomful of Blues fame) on Ronnie's upcoming album. Dave lives in Montpelier, Vermont his wife, two daughters, and living room jukebox.
"There are no words for how beautiful and divine your music is. It really speaks to me."
~Ronnie Earl, blues guitarist extraordinaire
"It's very compelling -- a beautiful record with no pretensions."
~Paul Rishell
"Keller reveals an authentic soul man nature. His singing possesses the conviction of the African-Americans who have influenced him, but he doesn't look to imitate them. It's going to be necessary to put Vermont on the map of blues and soul."
~Jacques Perin, "Soul Bag", Paris, France
Nick Bowers, Sound Recordings isn’t just a live sound
recording studio. Located in a 200 year
old 3 bedroom bed and breakfast style farmhouse on 40 acres in Wolcott,
Vermont, the project studio of NBSR offers great rates, a relaxed atmosphere,
and the seclusion needed to lay down those most righteous of tracks. And just like the mobile unit, there is never
an initial mixing charge at Nick Bowers, Sound Recordings.

Happy New Year! (kind of late... only by two days though) Hey, hey, hey... I thought I'd ask you if there was the possibility of sending a message to you when there was a certain song that I'd like to learn, but don't have the CD. Do you think that'd work? If I were to send you a site along with the song were you could listen to it and all.
Hey Dave, you should also mention for folks who just can't get enough blues that you will be playing at First Night Montpelier earlier in the day on New Year's Eve too. Check out the schedule at www. mdca. org
Hey hey. I have a new song posted on my blog. I'm really not sure about this one. I think it needs a little work. I'm looking for comments, so please tell me what you think... and possibably a melody idea too. I've tried extremely hard to put chords to it, but so far I've gotten no where.
My friends car is in the garage so I'm hoping I'll be able to catch the show tomorrow. And I have a question, last night you played a song, it was something about running away from problems...I think the chorus was three words...not sure. Anyways, What's that song called?
Haha. I've never actually commented you yet. Sorry. That F chord is really bugging me. Really, I gave up on it for a while... I can play it... the wrong way and it sounds fine... but not the right way. I REALLY DISLIKE the F chord. LOL! (laugh out loud)
