DAVE KIRK: The son of a hippy sixties songstress and the descendant of a Victorian composer, Dave Kirk is a 28 year old folk singer, currently based in Barnet, London. Dave writes melodic guitar music incorporating both traditional and modern themes and spends most of his free time writing music, playing music in various venues in North London. A Member of the International Guild of Songwriters and Composers, his recent recordings have brought some significant results in the UK Songwriting Contest (BRIT/BBC) for two years in a row, in Folk, Adult Contemporary and Lyric categories. "Highly promising...from a singer who has a potentially wonderful tenor voice, and a writer who can conjure romance and remembrance from a few simple chords. Alchemic." OXFORD BANDS REVIEW by Colin McKinnon "A soft and wistful voice to carry you away...it would be lovely to imagine his songs accompanying a classic British film" FOR FOLKS SAKE NEW BANDS REVIEW by Louis Gilbert "Kirk is certainly an intelligent wordsmith and is possessed of a smooth tenor voice" FOR FOLKS SAKE NEW BANDS REVIEW by Chris Gent
