Dave Lemon & the Double Shots. Encapsulated tides of melodic energy, with dark lyrical undercurrents, pulled from the abyss. The songs are born of experience and observation.
Songs in play:
Job Hopper - After being rejected in a job interview for having worked at too many places, the only solution was go it freelance and be independent.
Freedom of Choice - We all want freedom, and it starts with individual choices we all make that impact the greater world.
Freaky Freddie - There once was a story about a transvestite. No it's not Rocky Horror, but just as scary!
The Pepper Song - Inspired by a jalapeno pizza.
Stumble In - Growing up witness to a friend's father's alcoholism made an impact and later grew into this story about it.
Tell Me What It Means - A questioning of human nature's propensity for war.
Dave Lemon transmits experiences, observations and social conditions into a sonic soundscape. The debut album entitled Stumble In, further solidifies the songs that roam inside Dave's head. He performs with his line up, Dave Lemon and the Double Shots (ie. Steve "the Bonecrusher" drums, & Art Culbertson, bass). Below is a video from Monterey Rock & Art Festival 2006.

Fact:
At age 13, Dave was invited to a church gathering, or should we say ambush. The topic was Satanic music. Kiss, it was said to mean Knights In Satans Service. Black Sabbath and Led Zeppelin were all said to be evil. Daves heroes, soon to find out were are devil worshippers. This shocking revelation brought Dave to see the light. So on a late afternoon he took all his Satanic records out into the yard and lit fire to them. Smoke billowed through the neighborhood. Sirens soon roared down the street. The fire department showed up ready to put out the fire. They asked what Dave was doing. He explained and they put out the fire with a grin.
It was an expensive lesson in replensihing an audio library!

Howdy! Dani Paige Band and Night Sweat play Monterey Live this Friday, March 27 at 9:00pm. The bar will be doing DPB-themed drink specials. Hope to see you there!
Hey, just letting everybody know that this Sunday's jam session at Monterey Live will be a little different. The amazing Jakob Martin (http://www. myspace. com/jakobmartinmusic) will do a solo performance starting at 7pm. He'll probably finish up around 8:30, and we'll get started with the jam and open mic right after that. We may even get Jakob to play with us!
Peace,
Jesse
Hey, just spreading the word about the eclectic jam session/open mic we're doing at Monterey Live tonight (and every Sunday). Bring an instrument or your voice and sit in with the house band, or perform solo if you prefer. And if you just want to enjoy drink specials and yummy food while you watch some great music, that's cool too! We go from 8-11pm.
