I grew up in Fort Worth and began playing guitar at the age of thirteen. Other than a year of college music theory, and scattered private lessons, I’m mostly a self-taught musician. At the age of fourteen I played my first real paid gig. Since then I’ve had a very diverse musical journey, and been blessed to play with many of the finest musicians in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex area, with travels all over Texas, and many cities across the United States. Within this journey, as with many guitarists of my generation, I have absorbed elements of all the “classic” electric guitar styles, ranging from B.B.King to Jimi Hendrix. My love affair with jazz firmly took root during my junior year of High School when I discovered the music of the pioneering jazz guitarists Charlie Christian and Django Reinhardt. From there I began exploring the world of the great ‘50’s jazz guitarists like Wes Montgomery, Kenny Burrell, Jim Hall and Joe Pass. Today, the new leaders that I draw inspiration from include Pat Metheny, John Scofield and Bill Frisell. When talking about myself and music, it’s an ongoing journey of knowledge and growth. At the core it’s a spiritual journey, fueled by a desire to connect with other human beings in a way that is meaningful and positive.

BTW -- I'm absolutely loving your tunes. Tasty playing. I love blues and jazz-flavored music of all sorts, and have always loved the playing of folks like Wes Montgomery and Lenny Breau (I met Lenny in Maine shortly before his death). My style isn't anything like those players (me being more of a blues guy), but I still love listening to it.
