Bio
.. ...... Dave was formed in the tradiitional manner in 1961, and ended up playing bass because no one else wanted to do it (very unglamourous job in the late seventies). After many jobs, he finally escaped the wearisome world of work by signing up to do a music degree at Canterbury Christchurch uni, and is now poor but happy writing music at home. Dave uses a Yamaha TRB1006 bass and no amps (donations to the amp buying fund gratefully accepted), and records onto a zoom digital 8 track and Cubase. -

Influences
My influences are as varied as my musical tastes, ranging from classical masters such as Bach, Beethoven, Chopin and Satie, to prog. greats like Rush, King Crimson, Van der Graaf Generator and Genesis. Probably the biggest influence on what I'm playing now, however, is Stuart Hamm, because until I heard his first two albums (check them out), I wouldn't have thought about this solo project at all. -
Sounds Like
You'll probably have to decide this for yourselves, but I think most of these tunes sound a bit like a cross between Bach and Beethoven, with the obvious exception (The Rock and the Butterfly), to my mind, sounding a bit like Mogwai.
