My name is Dave McIsaac. I grew up on classical music and jazz. How I got into country music is another story. But this isn't the time or place for that...I write, sing, play keys and fiddle, and now even a little guitar. I have been a performing musician for more years than I care to mention. I've been on the verge of "success" a number of times (in a band that was signed in the 70's), traveling all over the US and Canada performing on stage with or opening up for dozens of major stars of the time (Ricky Skaggs, Juice Newton, Doug Kershaw, Bailie and the Boys, etc.). But life on the road has it's drawbacks - and I succumbed. It's been a long road back up to good health and a sound mind! I'm happy to say that I've been clean and sober for a good number of years and have made the decision to try a different path to "success".
So, now I'm a semi-retired musician trying to make a living in Pocatello, Idaho, taking care of his beautiful wife (Mary Jo) who has MS (Multiple Sclerosis). I don't do much playing anymore. I'm not particularly into bar gigs and there really isn't much else available around here. And playing on the road is rough on my wife, so I keep it down to an occasional show with old friends like Tommy Overstreet, Johnny U and the boys, or whoever else happens to be in the area. I'm just doing some writing and recording at home in my spare time with the dream that someday I might accidentally come up with something good enough to be picked up and recorded so I could take care of my wife properly. (She can't take care of herself very well anymore.)

Light is the equilibrium of Shadow and Lucidity. Movement is the equilibrium of Inertia and Activity. Authority is the equilibrium of Liberty and Power. Wisdom is equilibrium in the Thoughts, which are the scintillations and rays of the Intellect. Virtue is the equilibrium in the Affections:Beauty is harmonious proportion in Forms. The beautiful lives are the accurate ones, and the magnificences of Nature are an algebra of graces and splendors. Everything just is beautiful; everything beautiful ought to be just. Moondani gLeNn
I want to invite you to Blakefest this weekend, August 15th. All proceeds benefit a local 8-year old battling cancer. Please read her blog on the BLAKEFEST page, on my top friends. I am privileged to be invited to sing the National Anthem and opening song at this year’s event. This year BLAKEFEST 2009 will be sponsored by Idaho Health Guide, co-sponsors are The Hard Hat Steakhouse, and 78 Productions. Headlining at BLAKEFEST 2009 is KREEP a national touring band made up of members from White Zombie and Bile. This concert event will feature 7 local bands. It's being held at Hard Hat Steakhouse beginning at 1:00 p.m. Tickets are $12 at the door, if we each do a little this family will be greatly benefited. Let's show what one community can do for a common cause. See you there, Erika Dawn
I seriously don't think I can stand another day of rain. So anyway thanks for adding me as your
new Myspace friend. I always wanted to pursue a career in
music, but thought I would have to leave Idaho Falls to do it.
Life always keeps things exciting though and things may work out to
stay in good old Idaho for a while. Hope you can listen to my
music and let me know what you think, I would love your support.
Hugs, Erika S
