Dave has been playing music since he was 6 years old. A drummer for 18 years Dave has been playing in front of audiences long before he ever dreamed of playing the guitar. Living in PA Dave went to college at Penn State for criminology but never lost sight of music. After college Dave moved to Alaska to work with Grizzly Bears in Katmai National Park. During this time is when Dave picked up the guitar since his beloved drums were thousands of miles away. Inside Katmai National Park Dave taught himself how to play the guitar as he did the drums many years ago. For over 6 months Dave lived and worked among Grizzly Bears and played his guitar. In camp there was only a cabin, bears, whiskey, and Dave's guitar to pass the time when he wasn't working. Songs of pride such as "My Tattoos" were first written there. After coming home Dave was hired back at a local Trucking Company where he worked during college to pay for tuition. The owner and friend Steve Patton gave Dave a promotion enough to have a financial backing to achieve Dave's biggest dream. The Dave Miller Band.
Influences
"Music is something I grew up with and will be a huge part of my life until my very last breath. I grew up listening to grunge music. Eddie Vedder is still one of my biggest heros. I was able to meet his drummer at that time, Dave Abruze, from the "Ten" album during a drum competition. Abruze was one of the celebrity sponsors in the competition. Meeting him fueled my fire knowing that a dream so big could be reality. Although I got into a funk where all I was playing was Pearl Jam. I got great reviews by some because I sounded frightenlty like Eddie Vedder when I sang. I started to hate getting props from people because I sounded like someone else. I had to change everything to become something new, something that is mine. I started going solo and started The Dave Miller Band."

Dave Miller Band LIVE SHOWS
Dave Miller Band shows are like no other. With the release of the new CD "My Tattoos", comes a new style of acoustic rock. Dave's hard hitting guitar style stems from years of drumming. The guitar has it's own rhythm itself. You will hear and see Dave playing the drums to cover songs such as DMB, Pearl Jam, Breaking Ben, and Godsmack just to name a few. The song is played throughout the PA systems, with the mixer, the drummer of the band is taken out. Dave inputs his drums into song and gives it a whole new spin.
The guitar goes from low to high fast to slow in a dance of musical performance. Many shows Dave will play with just a guitar and the PA system and lights. This is a very personal show for coffee shops and small bars. Bigger venues go for the drums included. No matter the show it will always be a FULL night of entertainment.
DJ Services
DJ services are available. Professional lights are used as well as state of the art PA systems. The CD player is wired into the mixer so there is never any delay of music. The first song will blend into the next so the dancing never has to stop until you get to tired to continue. *Note* Dave is CPR certified so there is no issues taking it to the limit. The system works very well for weddings. The PA system will be used as a amp when the toast or blessing is given and the voice will be at the best clairty expected. For addition information just email one the contacts or fill out the booking chart and you will hear from Dave or Steph ASAP.
The name of this band is very deciving. Dave Miller is the front man and the only man in the band. The name came from Dave's live perfomances. Dave plays the guitar, sings, plays lead guitar and plays the drums all during his shows. Many people made comments that it was like seeing a full band even though it was only Dave onstage.
Dave's music is becoming more popular as time goes. His name is being recognized as a steady music force in the Daily Item and on advertizing boards around the Susquehanna Valley.
Dave's new CD "My Tattoos" is soon to be released and will be available through this site and at Dave's live shows.
Musicly Dave's sound has been compared to Dave Matthews, Pearl Jam, and Neil Young. He covers many bands depending on the venue and audience. Pearl Jam seems to be his most requested next to his own material.
Many shows it's just Dave and his guitar with state of the art PA systems and stage lighting to make even a coffee shop seem like a professional setting. On this site your able to listen to his music and be your own judge on this up coming young musician.
