Hey, my friend! Glad to hear you're still running. I'll probably wait till fall to run another long race, though I ran a 10k (in the heat...ugh!) this past weekend, and I'm planning to sign up for the MRTC Road Race series, which starts next month (two races/mo for 5 months, with each month's race longer than the previous one's).
I hope the semi-retirement from live musical performance is a planned one. I still play here and there (mainly drums, but also Target House tomorrow).
Let me know if you might be up for a Saturday morning run sometime.

This is a 1 take with 1 mic in front of me and my Yiairi acoustic. I love the band, MUSE, & always viewed this song as a struggle against sin or an addiction in my life. I don't know if that's what MUSE wrote it about, but that's what this song signifies to me.
Hey Dave, Long time no talk to. Sorry I have not been sociable here. Allot of stuff going on. Work, Home life, Music, economy - LOL. Just stuff!!! How you been? Trust all is well. Just wanted to drop in and say howdy!!!
Dave Nicar is one of the most talented singers I have ever had to work with. We have known each other since the early 90's when the DNB machine was just gwtting started up. He has always been a good brother you could talk to anything about. I count him still as one of my best friends of all time. Keep it up brother..someone's watchin.
You were awesome Dave. Thanks so much. Keep inspiring the masses. i hope we get to come back and yes it is good to be able to turn to the band and say,"Hey, we made some money." It keeps them motivated.Thanks. Lets do it again.
Hey Dave, I made the cover of the Rolling Stone Magazine!!!! It will come out December of 2050 - LOL How you doin' man!!!! just wanted to drop in and say hello.
From the "Well, its about time department": The Castaway Blog!
Dave Nicar released his first CD, Warrior in 1996, then forced fans to wait ten years before privileging us with the release of Castaway. It was worth the wait. With Castaway, Dave proves that the talent demonstrated on Warrior was not some fluke, was not a one-time-only manifestation. Castaway is rich from start to finish, includes a nice range of styles, smart arrangements, and solid performances all around.
Castaway kicks off with an allegorical picture of a person in despair. "If I Could See the Sun" paints a picture of a person trapped in a life of pain and suffering, but gives hope, in the end. "Now that I see the sun, I know that I am free," Nicar sings. It is a powerful performance that will be familiar to anyone who has heard Dave before.
And "powerful performance" typifies the Dave Nicar style well. On "Runner," the second song, the style continues. Dave sings from the gut and heart belting out the lyrics with dynamic and tonal perfection. No surprise to anyone who is a fan!
