    Davenport Public Library's Interests
GeneralReading, watching DVDs, listening to CDs, fun programs, magazines, asking questions, downloading ebooks, genealogy and local history research; and meeting new people.
MusicI own and loan all kinds - country, rock, punk, classical, r&b, celtic, musicals, jazz, rap, soundtracks, the blues... the list goes on and on!
MoviesI've got an awesome selection of DVDs and videos, and I'm willing to loan those out, too. My favorites are the new releases - I get those as soon as they come out, just like the video stores - except mine can be borrowed for free!
TelevisionI have so many television shows available on DVD that it would take years to watch them all. My favorites are Cheers, the Sopranos, the Brady Bunch... well, I can't even choose my favorites because I have so many. You should come and see my selection because I'm willing to share those, too!
BooksI have more than 250,000 items to choose from - impressive! I can't say that I've read every single one of them, but I know that if the wonderful librarians selected them to be on the shelves, then they are worth a look. I have to admit, I love the cookbooks the best.
HeroesMelvil Dewey, Andrew Carnegie, Clarissa Cook, Alice French, and the citizens of Davenport for passing the referendum so that I could get two new libraries!

Hey there!

Thanks for the add, I would like to tell you about my new book:

The Tear Collector;

Fans of Twilight, the Vampire Diaries, and other vampire books should prepare for a new kind of vampire—one that feeds off of tears instead of blood. Descended from an ancient line of creatures that gain their energy from human tears, I depend on human sorrow to live. My job as a grief counselor at the hospital provides me with perfect cover to keep this secret safe, and any time a friend needs a shoulder to cry on, I'm there. Only I've grown tired of living a lie and I wants to live like a human, especially now that I've found someone worth fighting for.

Check it out and let me know what you think?

Best,
Patrick Jones

PROFESSOR ANGELICUS

PROFESSOR ANGELICUS

"Bubble Time?" The children grew more amazed with each minute.

"Bubble Time. Up till now, your clocks ticked to the rhythm of your planet revolving around your sun. But now you've been aligned to the heartbeat of the Universe. The clock in the bubble ticks in time to the twinkle of the stars. In the Universe there really isn't any time at all, so we can go as slowly as we want or as quickly as we please! We can go faster or slower than Earth time."

"We can travel in and out of the seasons, if we want! Summer? Why, just think about it! Winter? Feel the frost bite your nose! Fall? You're a leaf of red and gold, swirling and floating through the autumn air. It's all up to you. It depends on how you feel inside! Imagine! There are no boundaries! No limits! You can go where your imagination will take you!"

The Professor turned to his pipe. "Now just sit down and make yourselves comfortable," he said over his shoulder.

"Where do we sit, Professor?" asked Ivy.

"Anywhere you'd like! Just trust yourself and the seat will be there for you.
