It was during the decline in the 80's that a major music scene developed.In fact, just a couple of weeks ago, I was lucky enough to re-touch with Martin Bowes. His band (ATTRITION) are on their 8th U.S.tour rite now! Martin used to write a killer music mag in the day! The trax on this site, excluding 'Help me doctor' which was a live recording, July last year,were recorded at Be-bop studios in Rockville, M.D. ALL SONGS;Dave Pepper **Right now, Dave is crankin out new songs for the upcoming c.d. release.Working with long time friend and drummer Mike Rowle and Jeff Ball, bassist. The band are currently rehearsing in the bands basement studio. A tour of the U.S. is being negotiated.So far,Detroit(opener for Vic Wayne'), Chicago, L.A, Baltimore(opener for 'gene loves Jezebel',NY and DC are being finalised. This will however be a support tour of different bands. (both, British, and American acts) Songs are being pulled from the last cd release (Into THe Sun),plus new tunes from the forthcoming album"Cant stop the Juggernaut",featuring live cuts from selected shows around the U.S.

BRIEF BLITZKRIEG ZONE BIO.
Whilst dave was playn keyboards with The Ramrods, in Scotland.They were on a support tour with THE POGUES.(ELVIS COSTELLO sang along side Dave at THE EDINBURGH PALACE THEATRE!) He met Tony James(Generation X) Tony had recently formed Sigue Sigue Sputnik, with front man,Martin Degville.Dave had the right look!He was so impressed with the Sputnik 'picture' he left The Ramrods, and Quickly got BKZ up and running.Dave, Steve, Martin and a Roland dr 707! recorded The 1st single(21 Boy) at a local Leamington studio.The flipside was recorded with the newly recruited drummer(Pete) in a tiny Coventry studio.We got a great deal from a local music store on a digital drum kit!That just helped the glam image! The band rehearsed every day in Dave's appartment,witha 1000 watt p.a!(much to the annoyance of the neighbors!) Dave knew the local press, and with their help got plastered on all the local media, including, radio and cable TV. Many trips to London got a buzz going. Articles in N.M.E, and Melody maker(music mags) were a real plus, and with the coventry based 'NETWORK CONTROL' , coach trips to tour venues were set up.The first gig at Busters Nightclub was a sellout! and the band had 4 songs! we played for 2 hours!Local bands were invited to help us on good gigs outside of the midland area. My friend Andy(Fridayz Angelz) played with us several times at the London gigs. Most of our agency gigs, were university shows. , but we played most of the major clubs all over the country. I can remember drivin the van back from a south coast gig!, and almost falling asleep at the wheel! I was seeing seagulls in the middle of the road! We had a great friend Kieran, that made all our clothes, and did all make up!Dave kept in touch with Tony James thru the early stages of BKZ. In fact it was Tony(while SIGUE SIGUE SPUTNIK were at a gig in Cov) (check their site, along with NEIL X, CARBON SILICON(Tonys new band, with Mick Jones)who suggested the 2020 bit of our name! As the band were signed to the london agency(THE AGENCY), we toured the country with; 999, Zodiac Mindwarp,Gaye bikers on acid, The Pogues, and plenty more! there are still bootlegs of live gigs out there! Busters(the 1st gig,on cassette) 21 Boy/Teenage Rocket age(7"single) Rockstar(4track EP) Lancaster Sugar House set(cassette)
