One of my earliest memories was of my Grandpa "Moe Po", Moses Seldom Poland in Bridgewater, MA. my home town. Moses introduced me to fiddle at an early age, mostly old-time fiddle and popular tunes of WWI. This was my musical world for the most part until the Beatles came out and spun my head around. Much to grandfather's chagrin, I played 45's all day long of early rock and roll and mix in 45's of old time fiddlers like Tommy Jackson....strange kid I was! I was, and am the "geek" with the violin-case, a farm-boy with old shitty shoes, and a "Five Dollar Truck".
These days I spend my time playing in several bands from Nantucket Island to South Carolina, and points along the way, running along the Appalachian Mountain range mostly. Over the past 30 years I've met, played with, learned from, and befriended, many fine folks with the kind of musical talent and taste that is hard to find when you leave the mountains. My life is a never-ending-loop of visits and gigs to these wonderful people and places, each stop a treasure of songs, tunes, and memories shared! I had a "regular" job once, hated-it! Davy P.
