Dave Rodgers is an Italian songwriter, composer, and producer.
He started production with the band Aleph. Since then, he has collaborated with artists from around the world and has produced several multi-platinum albums. Rodgers has been honored by the Japanese music industry for selling more than 30 millions albums.
He is the owner of Rodgers Studio and A-Beat C Productions. Considered by many to be the "Godfather of Eurobeat", he has written and produced songs for J-Pop artists such as Namie Amuro, V6 (these songs include Ultraman Tiga's opening theme TAKE ME HIGHER) and MAX, which proved to help introduce some of the Japanese music fans to the style of eurobeat. Many songs produced by Dave Rodgers have become massive hits, such as "Space Boy" by Dave Rodgers himself, "Go Go Money" by Neo, "Original Sin" by Powerful T.
He has recently released a new CD under the name Dave Rodgers, called Blow Your Mind. The music on this CD has a more Rock feel to it, as opposed to his previous Eurobeat songs.
Dave was born the 21 of feburary 1963 in Italy but he immediately became a worlds citizien, thanks to his love for music that will bring him almost everywhere in this World. He traveled and lived through United States, Australia, Asia, Africa and Europe, and all these experiences slowly formed his personality and his creativity, turning him in an Artist capable of creating a music which knows no boundaries and varying from Dance to Eurobeat, from Pop to Rock.
He started in the band Aleph and had his first European success back in the late eighties. Their single "Fly To Me" charted in the Top Ten in many territories. Around that time Dave began a long-term collaboration with Japanese label Avex (1990).This cooperation will reach the unbelievable record of more than 30 million copies sold, thanks also to a genre he developed in 1st person, called Eurobeat.
A highlight of his career was his 1994 collaboration, in the studio and on stage, with Jennifer Batten (Michael Jackson's guitarist) for the Japanese boy band V6 which led to several multi-platinum hit singles. Only recently Dave discovered and produced Nuage, a promising young Italian singer, whose debut single garnered a great response. Dave has also experimented musically by inviting Kiko Loureiro from the Brasilian power metal band Angra, Dave Lombardo etc., to participate in some special productions for Japan.
After several year of different experiences all around the world, Dave come back to Italy, with the new project "Blow your Mind", an extraordinary album full of wonderful and meaningful songs. The new album was recorded in part in Los Angeles at Westlake Audio Studios with contributions from such prestigious musicians as Gregg Bissonette (drums), Matt Laug (drums), Kevin Ricard (percussions), Tony Levin (bass), Michael Landau (guitar), Steve Lukather (guitar), Johnny 5 (guitar), Brian Ice/Fabrizio Rizzolo and Stefano Brandoni. Additional work was done at Daves own state-of-the-art studio in Mantova, Italy thus giving the music a subtle mix of American bravado and European class.
In this new project, anticipated from the single "Just another brick on my wall", Dave re-approaches pop-Rock atmospheres and gives his career a new turn, composing an album in total freedom and getting close to the style of some of his most inspiring influences, like David Bowie, Iggy Pop, Peter Gabriel and Quincy Jones.
