dave speight acoustic six and twelve, sometimes a tri-cone ... playing 30s acoustic blues : lazy dazy- acoustic blues duo : the lazy dazy band - louder, with suzy strange - vocals
Influences
acoustic blues from broonzy through to any johnson ... chris thompson, wizz jones, steve phillips... any acoustic blues from the 20s till now ... john lee hooker and some other electric players (but it's not the same) ... amazing vocalists such as elvis, ray charles, sam cooke, joe cocker, marvin gaye, etc. etc.
Sounds Like
Nearly always play with a broonzy thumb but sometimes pick like john hurt or blind blake. Always play and sing like I mean it
I've been playing and singing the blues for over 40 years ... with more and more feeling that I have good reason to do so as I age. The fingers may have slowed .... but the voice still works

"Ticklin' The Strings" by Sweet Hollywaiians Amazing Japanese hot string band playing 1920's, 30's, 40's style hawaiian, swing, calypso, blues, italian music and originals, featuring vintage instruments.3 songs with Robert Armstrong and Tony Marcus(from Robert Crumb and His Cheap Suit Serenaders)
"The Sweet Hollywaiians have probably the best feel for this 20's music of any string band working today. They manage the rare feat of sounding relaxed even when their playing is hot, are top notch musicians with tasteful arrangements and a full, rich, warm sound.Plus, they have a nice gamut of tunes, from King Nawahi to Giovanni Vicari to Bobby Leecan. See them live, if you can, for an unforgettable experience. If you can't, buy their Cds!" ~ Terry Zwigoff

No I can't either! Four of them are demos which were for The Pretty Route... The other two? Well... They're pretty old now. Still getting my own Logic set up together. Nearly there!
Hi Dave; Matchbox Blues, good stuff, no, very good stuff. Richard and me were just talkin' about you seein' Son House, I belive you said something like,"he made the strings rattle more than a little". Made me think that from the soul to the hands is a long hard road. You are much appreciated Anyway just stoppin' in for some Blues the way you do it, and that's the right way. Henry
Thanks for your kind comments and have been enjoying your music...wouldn't it be great for all us North Eastern Myspace musicians to meet up for a big festival?!
