The Dave Stark Five is a London-based classic 60s/70s rock/pop covers band featuring drummer Dave Stark and a rotating list of great players and guest singers, plus occasional VERY special guests like the legendary Randy Bachman (Bachman Turner Overdrive and The Guess Who), Denny Laine (Moody Blues & Wings), Jim Diamond, the great Lou Jordan as Elvis, the amazing Lorna Marshall and the wonderful Aria (Angela) Rosa. Until December 2008 the band had a regular monthly residency at the Blandford Club (formerly the Cricketers Club) just off Baker Street, and is currently looking for a new venue. (See contact details below).
BELOW: "Another Piece Of My Heart" - the Janis Joplin classic featuring the amazing vocals of Aria Rosa, live at The Blandford Club, London, June 2008.
Dave is an experienced drummer and occasional songwriter, whose previous bands include the John Lennon Experience, Riviera Feedback, Fire In The South, The What, Raw Deal, Dick's Right Foot, the Blood Group and others. He's pictured top left with his Slingerland special "Music for Montserrat" kit (as played at the all-star Royal Albert Hall charity show in 1997) but normally plays a 5-piece Pearl Export. He's a left-handed player (yes, there's always one) whose main drumming influences include Ringo, Keith Moon, Charlie Watts, Mick Fleetwood, Ginger Baker, John Bonham, Mitch Mitchell, Nigel Olsson, Kenney Jones, Alan White, Bill Bruford, Stewart Copeland, Don Henley and Jim Keltner among others. In fact his first-ever job in the music business was at Premier Drums' London promotions office, before he moved into the record and publishing side of the industry.
These days his day job is as Editor/Publisher of SongLink International, the worldwide songwriting and music publishing tipsheet / magazine - click the link for more information, and feel free to contact Dave regarding any gig opportunities, paid or otherwise - we can make your event extra special.

Hi Dave. Looking forward to the Heritage foundation's Christmas party on the 15th Nov. Michael Bolton and Mickey Rourke came to see my show last week . We had a blast.
Hi David...i've finally got my mojo back...lord almighty, i've been sick nearly 5 weeks, but i'm feeling much better and was able to sing a bit last nite. I hope i can make it to the Marriott hotel gig? sounds cool. hope to see you soon, love Dolores
Hi David...how's you? Sorry couldn't make the gig last nite...I'm still suffering with this nasty chest infection. Back at doctor's for a third time on Monday. Not sung a note all week...boo! Hope to see you soon. I've enrolled on a sound engineering course...will tell you more when i see you. Say hi to the rest of the band for me? love Dolores
Hellooooo David. Just a quick line to say how much i enjoyed the gig on Friday...Your drumming on MY GENERATION was superb! I'm glad you put me on first...i was very nervous. That was really my first proper public performance (I've done 5 or 6 open mics at college with a pianist...but it's not the same as being in a club with people you don't know!), it was great to hear MOONDANCE done with a full band. Well, hope to see you soon...love Dolores
Aw thats cool- yes Chris is my friend. I've only just heard Boo playing though. He sure knows how to get an audience involved! :o) I hope I can get to your gig.
Helloooo David. Great gig at Blandford earlier this month. I'd love to come and sing one song...if you guys have time? Hope to see you soon. It's my birthday the day before your next gig...so hope you can come along for lunch or tea somewhere?? Love Dolores ps. If you know of any decent guitarists who are free at the moment...send them my way!
Thank you for this message. I would have loved to be there but I will be in Paris this weekend. Please let me know how it goes. I will be sending over positive vibes :)
