  • Bio

"Sometimes you have to watch someone love something before you can love it yourself" The quote by Donald Miller (Blue Like Jazz) describes Dave's experience in music. Growing up in Canton, Ohio he watched relient k as they went from local favorite to a national touring act. He fell in love with what they were doing. In his mid teens he decided to set out on a musical journey of his own. In the Spring of 2009 he attended The Contemporary Music Center, an exclusive, invitation-only artist colony on Martha's Vineyard. While Dave was on the Island he honed his performance and songwriting craft. After returning home from the Vineyard, he graduated from Malone University with a Bachelor of Arts in Music Production. Dave now works on everything from songwriting to jingles to music for commercials on TV and Radio. Some of his clients include Todd Biss Photography in Akron, Ohio and MainSpring Business Video in LA. On the Performance and Songwriting side, Dave would say that he is a folk singer/songwriter and is influenced heavily by Johnny Cash, John Denver, Bob Dylan. He is also heavily influenced by bands such as U2, Blitzen Trapper, Mumford and Sons and The New Frontiers just to name a few. However, he is not easily tied down to a single genre and is often experimenting with a variety of styles. Dave loves the outdoors and it shows in his songs, from "Fireflies" to "The Valley." His guitar playing is very much a throw back to Johnny Cash, but he is able to play lead lines to differentiate his style. Dave has a wide vocal range and he is unmistakably folk.

About Dave

"Sometimes you have to watch someone love something before you can love it yourself" The quote by Donald Miller (Blue Like Jazz) describes Dave's experience in music. Growing up he watched hometown favorites, relient k, come in to their own and fell in love with what they were doing. In his mid teens he decided to set out on his own musical journey. Dave is a hard driving folk country singer songwriter that is influenced heavily by Johnny Cash, John Denver and Bob Dylan. His two-four time signatures and two and three part harmonies sound like those of more than a few decades ago. Dave loves the outdoors and it shows in his songs, from “Fireflies” to “Down in the Valley.” His acoustic guitar playing is very much a throw back to Johnny Cash, but he is able to play lead lines to differentiate his style. Dave has a wide vocal range and he is unmistakably folk.

Dave! You better play some shows! I wanna hear fireflies, the valley, let it go, and of course the tamarack song all in one set! That would be pure folk bliss
