Dave Williams began his rock and roll career with childhood friend and Queen bassist, John Deacon. The pair played together in several bands before John left Leicester to join Queen. Dave went on to attain a degree in Art and Design from the University of Loughborough, but truly, his heart belonged on the stage. He formed successful 70's rock band The Ritz (with sister Kate) who were signed to Polygram records for a number of years. When the long days of touring began to lose their appeal, he became a professional songwriter with Chappell/Warner Music.
Dave went on to compose the score the long running international smash hit 'Spirit of the Dance', which had four shows in the US and two international touring groups. Formed in 1996, 'Spirit of the Dance' is a foot-stomping international production featuring a spectacular display of traditional Irish culture that continues to thrill audiences all over the world.
Winner of nine Global Awards, including "Best Choreography" and "Best International Production", this spellbinding show has smashed box office records in fifteen different countries.
Dave also produced the music for 'Broadway! - A Star Spangled Celebration'. This musical performance takes you into New York and onto Broadway to see the highlights of your favorite performances like Mama Mia, Les Miserables, Oklahoma, Grease, and much, much more. Exciting new selections this year include songs from Mame, 42nd St, Cabaret, and Mary Poppins.
Dave's musical wizardry continues to evolve with "Deviations Project". Dave joins forces with international violin virtuoso OLIVER LEWIS to recreate some of the world’s most revered classical pieces, layering the warm, acoustic tones of the violin over lush, swirling, synthesized harmonies. Their latest album, 'Adeste Fiddles' debuted on Billboards Classcal Crossover chart at Number 19 - only a week after it's release!
Dave continues his work as a producer at his studio in the heart of Nottinghamshire.
Please keep me updated on your upcoming projects
and the best to you~
